They took care of my love one in time of need

The staff at The Call are a joke. They are a prime example of "The worst customer service ever. " My family and I, who no longer reside in KC, have been trying for well over a week to post a notice of our loved one's passing. After several failed attempts of leaving a voicemail and never receiving a call back we finally sent a relative ,who is local, to the business office. Only then were we able to speak with a live person. We were assisted by someone named Barbara, who assured us that our notice would be ran in the 6/21/20 print. However, we received an email on Wednesday stating that the payment was denied. After checking with our bank it turns out that Barbara transposed a few numbers to the bank account,ok mistakes happen even after you repeat the information several times- human error ,we get that. So needless to say our family has been trying feverishly to contact the office since Wednesday and the phone line, no matter which option pressed ,states your request can't be recognized. Wouldn't you know today, Friday, we called and someone answered right away.. only to tell us that today is not a business day and that we would need to leave a message. Are you serious right now? I am beyond disappointed with the Call. Not a good representation for other black owned businesses. This is definitely not the correct way to handle a grieving family that was simply trying to get a notice out to friends and family regarding someone's passing. Thanks for nothing. Oh yeah thanks for adding additional stress during this most difficult and stressful time in our lives!

Too bad we don't have another black owned paper. I'm sure they don't offer those services. They r so stuck back n the stone ages it's ridiculous! I'm afraid to go n the office for fear of inhaling asbestos r something . I hope they do better it has lots of potential if they step it up a lot!
