Very interesting. No charge, but small donation or more appreciated. Some work/improvements going on inside at this time. Some souvenirs available. Ample parking. Pictures allowed.

Went to the Sallie house and spent the night with West Michigan Paranormal Team. Lots of fun and history in the area. We had a tornado warning siren go off and it was a downpour of rain with thunder that added a complete different feel to the house. Very good time.

The Depot building itself is cool. Neat exhibits on various things. Worth the stop for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Free

This museum is quaint and provides a rather pleasant experience for those that enjoy learning history of the central United States. It also provides an enormous amount of history and fascination for those that crave knowledge about the history of Santa Fe train travel from the 20th century. The person I was touring with found the displays very interesting and exciting; they are a major passenger train fan. It's definitely worth a stop.

I'm not aware of any information by address. We have some Sanborn maps that would show some construction qualities of the structure. Is it a house?

Would you happen to have any information on an airplane built in the Atchison Railroad Yards 1910-1912? We are looking for a clear picture of the Jacobs Monoplane showing the propeller. The plane was built by Henry W. Jacobs.

Thanks for your inquiry. Due to the death of our director, we somewhat limited in our ability to answer research questions. The board is trying to become involved enough to help with general questions and help researchers. Do you have any photos of the plane that would help us in our looking for your request. Please send any data or photos you have and it might help us find what you are looking for. Thanks for your patience. Steve Caplinger, ACHS board member

I believe it is all volunteers. I think you could just call them during regular business hours. I am not a member so unsure.
