One of the last few movie theaters on the Northside of Chicago now. Friendly staff. If you do not buy your ticket online, you buy your ticket at the concession stand. Mostly clean theater seats and rows. Rarely busy or packed nowadays. The IMAX is good quality and probably one of the better IMAX theaters around, now that Navy Pier Imax is closed

Place has gotten off. No large cups. Ice rarely in machine w no Coke. Guess they have a deal w AMC. Always ask for fresh corn not the bits of shake.

This is probably the only Cinema that I visit in the city, it is far away from general audiences, it’s usually pretty empty on the week days, they have a wide selection of snacks, (try the Gouda beer cheese bites and the cheese burgers) a small arcade when the hour long previews become boring (or your date is a snooze). They have rather weak claw machines, so try the double tap method when you play. The Rubber Ducky Lucky Claw! Is the best one for a cheap souvenir. They also have loads of candy themed prizes for kids in the Prize Hub.
Now for problems:
I have only encountered two problems here and that’s only with loud humans with cell phones or who chit chatter with one another during the films, and the candy machine in the women’s restroom eating my quarters and not dispensing products. The Protocol Machine.
Security is always stationed by the front door, so there is someone always there to assist in an emergency. The theater is usually gang stupidity free, so it is safe to bring kids.
The building is handicapped accessible, the floor is pretty smooth with only a few door frame bumps, and if you ask a manager nicely, they will open the elevator for you. There is easy access to the Western Avenue bus adjacent to the arcade. Just walk out of the arcades exit. This is a nice, clean theater that is fun to visit.
Shakespeare at the cinema is showing
The tragedy of MacBeth at city north imax on dec 5 at 3 one time only . But I cannot find any mention of it on their website ?

Special promotion from film as it is free one time only event. I was there.
Can my 14 year old watch a PG-13 movie and pay for their tickets in this theater by themselves? Or do they need an adult? Will they ask them for I.D? Help!😬
If you curious because of the cold. I just looked them up and apparently they're still open. A lot of places still are. Just bundle up and be safe out there.
Is it always dirty in the theaters now ?

That's hit or miss. I watched a movie on its opening weekend there once and a lady working there kept shushing ppl talking & told ppl to stop using their phones during the movie.
Who can we call to check lost and found my son left his batman sweater
I have a question. I want to go see the Dragon Ball Super Hero movie in Spanish but there are several options. Is the one that says standard the one in Spanish or is it only in English at the moment?
Check their website for screening times: https://www.regmovies.com/theatres/regal-city-north-imax-rpx/1789
A cursory googling will give you screening times as well: https://www.google.com/search?q=breakthrough+movie+times+regal+14+chicago&oq=breakthrough+movie+times+&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j35i39j0l2.4475j0j4&client=ms-android-tmus-us-revc&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=showtimes
RPX stands for Real Premium Experience which is an upgraded style of theater format with 60-foot screens, double 30,000 lumen digital projectors & a state-of-the-art surround sound system that helps to totally immerse the viewer in the movie. Digital format films prevent any loss of picture or sound that can happen to regular films over repeated showings. Simply put, seeing a movie this way is superior to the traditional analog way of simply shining a bright light through a transparent piece of celluloid film. When you couple a 3D movie to audio that emminates from everywhere & moves around the entire theater, it enhances every aspect of the film so it looks and sounds exactly as the filmmaker intended it to be seen every time it's shown.
It's actually rather cool.
Anything before 4 pm is a matinee dont know the price. I would guess its about $6.75 since that how much it is to see any movie all day on Tuesday their discounted day of the week.
