This is only the second Save A Lot I've ever been to. I like it for what it is. Prices are good, but selection isn't like the big groceries... Kinda what I expected. I've always had good luck buying meat especially their family size chicken breast at a good price. Their produce section is small, but I've only seen good stuff there. I usually stop here first when I'm grocery shopping and stock up before I go to Jewel which is a block south.

Big selection of items, however I didn't save a lot of anything. I understand times are tough but $8+ for a small bag of apples.. uh no thank you. Plus I wouldn't buy bread because many packs of the hotdog buns looked like mice or rats had been chewing into and eating them. Gross. I stuck with only frozen foods.
Do anyone Know what time this location closes now?

Spend a lot claims they stay open for 24 hours. But i know another store you can go to and save a lot of money. If you are on the south side of chicago go to pete produce on 87th right off stony Island there food is 100% fresh
