The food was good. However we (4 of us) were there on a Friday evening, catching up with friends who had just returned from Europe, so we were excited to hang out - it had been awhile. Early. 5pm reservations. We ordered over 500.00 worth of food. Drinks, starter, Entre, dessert. And was intending to get drinks after dinner. Throughout dinner the waiter seemed to be rushing us through dinner. Asking were we finished constantly. Then immediately after dinner the hostess came to the table to tell us they had a lot of reservations and they needed the table. The 4 of us go out often to some of the best restaurants in Los Angeles and we have never had such an experience of being asked to leave because they needed the table. Especially after spend over 500.00. again the food was good. The atmosphere was mediocre at best, the service terrible. I don't recommend The Hatchet Hall. There are plenty of really good restaurants on the west side that would appreciate you money.

Total Euphoria! A Palate overload. I can not remember having a more tasty meal. Plate after plate was just to die for. We ordered dishes with foods that I normally do not fancy, to see if my mind could be changed, and sure enough. Never knew a stuffed pepper can be so darn good, or polenta, or carrots for that matter. I will not be able to eat brussels sprouts anywhere else from now on. And the sticky date cake or banana pudding for dessert- OMG!!! I am drooling just writing this. Friendly service and cool ambiance. No coffee is the only downside.

Wonderful dining experience, highly recommended! Food is absolutely delicious, we had venison carpaccio, tomato & cucumber salad, polenta & mushroom ragu, rotisserie chicken and stuffed red pepper with lentils. Every single dish was full of flavors and had was very authentic. Friendly staff and great vibe! Outdoor seating is very romantic and pleasant.
