Fresh veggies and canned foods. Good selection of products.

The interstate was backed up so we decided to take a break at this open air farmer's market. Lots of choices for July: green beans, peaches, cucumbers, tomatoes, and sugar cured ham. Lots of jams too. We bought an elderberry jam and "traffic" jam (which was a composition of dark berries- blueberries, black berries, elderberry, raspberry). Only negative= heavy cigarette smoke from nearby smokers.

Nice farmers market that also has a Virginia Visitors Information booth inside. We stopped in on May 7 and lots of vegetable plants for the garden were on sale. There is a variety of packaged country ham, baking staples, grits, jams, jellies, jars of canned vegetables and fruit, and seasonal fresh produce. The strawberries out of North Carolina were really full of flavor. Reasonable prices and regional items probably not carried by all of the local big box grocery stores. The price on 2 lb sacks of Cherokee stone ground grits is $2.99. Great quality local product that cooks up coarse, for a price lower than what you can find in the big name grocery chains. We stopped in twice during the week. A "go-to" stop for us on future road trips. Easy to find at I-77 Exit 14 right off of the highway.
