Update: As of 2019/2020 Michael's started selling fabric by the yard. It isn't a massive selection, but it is good quality. The offerings are quilting cotton, flannel cotton, fleece, some tulle, decorative outdoor/indoor canvas(on the more indoor side of heavy and not waterproof). There is also an wide selection of Coats and Clark's thread as well as standard bobbin, machine needles and hand sewing needs. Nothing by the yard. There are a few small (18"x18" range)pieces found in kids craft, t-shirts or bandanas but that's going to be the extent of their selection.
