As a beginner to Salsa, I found this course super welcoming and straightforward to follow (for the basic moves). The course instructors were very patient and kind. For anyone who is not very confident in dancing such as myself, I would recommend this class as it was a very comfortable and fun environment.

What a warm, fun, and welcoming environment! My students loved every moment and it was the perfect amount of instruction for new learners! The best part was seeing the students take what they learned and apply it in a real life salsa dance setting! Thank you Raul! 💃🏽

Raúl is an amazing teacher who gives very clear instructions and paces the class perfectly to accommodate both new and slightly more experienced learners. I highly recommend his classes to anyone looking to get into salsa !

I just completed a 10-pack of salsa classes with Raul and my dance skills have improved tremendously in just a few weeks. I am planning to sign up for more classes and keep the momentum going. I highly recommend Raul and his classes for all levels. Raul is patient, kind and really helps you master complex salsa combinations. I started the class a little afraid of turns and now I feel really confident. There is a fun social dancing event once a month where you can practice what you've learned. I would also highly recommend the hip hop class on Tuesday nights at 8pm. The teacher (Natalia) is so fun, energetic and her dancing is on another level. The hip hop class begins with a warm-up that includes isolations and quickly moves into (achievable) choreography. Music is really great for both classes!

Raul Cabrera | Jan 16, 2022

Our studio is large and well-ventilated. Any student can choose to dance by themselves or exclusively with a partner/friend that they bring to class while staying 6 feet away from the rest of the group. Please let us know if you are concerned about covid so that we can make the proper accomodations for you. Our current instructors (as of January 2021) are vaccinated against covid-19.

No. We change partners throughout our group lessons, so you'll be able to meet and dance with new friends. A few of our students come to class with their own partner and choose not to change partners. That's perfectly fine too!

Do I need experience to join a hip hop class?

Alex Perez | Jun 15, 2022
Elena Mark | Jun 15, 2022

Nope! I took my first hip hop class ever a few weeks ago with Salsa Papi. It was fun and beginner-friendly.

Where should I go salsa dancing in Miami?

After our evening salsa classes, some of our students go to Ball & Chain, CubaOcho, or Guantanamera Cigars, which are all located just 5 blocks from us. We have a group outing on Third Thursdays to one of those venues!

Do I need to practice on my own?

Brandon Clippinger | May 16, 2022
Salsa Papi (at Morphē) | May 16, 2022

You are not required to practice outside of dance class. If you want to improve quickly, we recommend that you practice outside of class, by yourself and with a partner, at least once or twice per week. We also play 20 minutes of music in the gap between our regularly scheduled classes. We encourage our students to practice their moves with different partners during the intermission!
