I brought my 28' Cobalt from Delray beach to Powerhouse Marine. I had a very irritating high pitched sound coming from my fuel pump. 3 different marine repair places told me that I'd need a new 1800 fuel pump. Powerhouse told me before they replace the fuel pump it could be as simple as flushing out a cooling hose that if restricted could cause the squeal. They told me to leave the boat with them on Monday and I'd be able to get it by Fri. Well, once there, I happened to meet the owner and his top mechanic. Instead of waiting the week, the owner decided to take a "quick" look. 2.5 hours later, his "quick " look proved to be indeed a blocked hose and after several flushes the engine purred with little sound. He also added some hydrolic steering fluid as it was a bit low. 250.00 later, I was heading back to Delray Beach. You just don't find these type of honest people everywhere, and although a haul, I wouldnt take my boat for repairs anywhere else moving forward. As an OEM Volvo dealer it would have been very easy for him to say I needed a new pump. This place is great!!!!!

So, I had an overheating issue in portside motor. Decided to use them. They correctly diagnosed problem that it was "bravoitis" and had the transom assembly exchanged. To be fair vessel's design made it very difficult to pull out motor, but damage did occur to vessel during job, and more importantly job was preformed by a mechanic in training without constant supervision by owner or head mechanic (he doesn't work there anymore). After job completion (which took 2 weeks, even though they told me 1, because it rained some of the days) they presented me with $9000 bill. Issues I have: 1. I pointed out all damages to vessel to the owner with pics, he didn't offer to make things right or discount bill. Just a shrug of shoulders. 2. Novice mechanic did not attach correctly water hose to motor, and as I left marina, hose popped and water flooded engine room, limped back to marina and head mechanic attached hose correctly. Also, novice mechanic did not attach correctly throttle mount, and a week later bolt fell, and lost power control to motor. I found the issue and corrected myself. Novice mechanic also did not correctly attach hatch actuator, as nut was not screwed on and bolt half fell out. 3. This is my worst issue, a week later, I lost power thrust to same motor!! Went back to marina again, owner correctly diagnosed engine coupler went bad. I stated "did novice or you examine part before install???" They said they did, but how does one trust that especially after their track record. I thought about doing the job there, but did not trust them. Went somewhere else and completed job. Honest opinion: 1. They should not take so many jobs at once as there are only 2 mechanics. Every boat owner wants a timeline, and not "eh we'll fix your boat at some point. Could be a day, a week, or a month." They should have a more accurate service maintenance schedule for all jobs, and only take what one can handle. In addition, communicate more frequently with owners giving them status updates. 2. Don't understand why they don't use their storage facilities roof to protect them from elements, while preforming jobs out of water. Makes no sense. 3. I understand good help is hard to find, but any business owner should supervise, train, and review all new hires. Conclusion, would I use them again? Definitely not. While they were all nice and polite, at the end of the day results matter, and overall, I'm not happy especially after such a big job, and me spending more time and money to correct things done wrong. *Update on aforementioned issue: Was doing an unrelated job, and my amazing new mechanic discovered the gimble housing Powerhouse installed was not done correctly and is leaking water in bilge. Also, one of the cables was squeezed upon when the screwed the two parts together. Finally, the Y-pipe they changed had nothing wrong with it. So now I have to spend more money to correct what they did wrong. Horrendous company, completely botched job, and terrible experience!!!

Hello, You have to enter the canal by 135th St go all the way day to the end where you have to make a right or left turn...you make a sharp right and Power House is on your left by the bridge on Biscayne. I hope that helps you, Thank you
