By far the worst Housing Authority I have ever encountered. These people do not want to work, I had a case worker in Broward she didn’t put RTA in , landlord didn’t receive payment , 2 months went by I couldn’t reach her and the landlord couldn’t reach her , left voicemails, no return. Once I spoke to a Supervisor, my case worker call me and said I’m sorry , since the Pandemic, I got lazy , and for her free time she was in Hawaii for month , she said she forgot about her work because she was enjoying her Pandemic Vacation. Broward county housing authority with make you lose everything that why I ported out.

It is said that the workers customer service skills are horrible. My client called to assist her with Broward Housing Authority because the case worker Ms. Sander Velar was very nasty and not pleasant to deal with. She spoke harsh and rude even on the conference call. They need to place their workers in some Six Sigma trainings to effectively deal with clients. Love and kindness wins all the time.

This was the best agency back before 2010 when i had a voucher with them. I just tried to transfer my voucher back this time in 2022 and they took for ever to get back, and they intake lady Sandy and her Supervisor was right there while she was being rude towards me and the information was incorrect and when I was tring to tell her that she kept saying calm down, just calm down like she know me or something. I am niot going to allow anyone to talk to me any kind of way cause they think they are giving you something when this ain"t even her stuff. they for get that thuis is there job and they just work there. N she had the nerve to say she trying to help me after being nasty towards me. They forgot this is not there stuff they work there. I HAVE TO BE STUCK WERE I AM I DONT WANNA HAVE TO DEAL WITH THERE MESS AND ITS NOT JUST AT THIS HOUSING aUTHORITY ITS ALL OVER....... sO gOD HELP . GET MYSELF TO GETHER SO I DONT HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS ANYMORE......,The Supervisor dont even return your calls!

Its can take up to 4 -5 years before someone calls you, if your number was drawn. If you dont hear nothing in between those times, then most likely that year over and they already picked the people from the list. It's best to call and ask what year are they working on now. Remember people are picked from a lottery pool. If it's over, then you reapply.
Yes it is portable. I got .got mine in Pittsburgh when I was 25 amd never used it them we t to florida aND used it here. First year u have to stay at place for 1 yr. Not after that. U can even go to Hawii. In Pittsburgh u rent to own asap. Not in Broward.

Yes of course check under who's name is the address on by putting on Google the address there must be somebody's name as the owner of the property rather a realtor or the home or building owner. Good luck.

Whether or not the nursing home situation is temporary or permanent must be addressed by the agency or program providing the housing assistance in order to determine if fraudulent activity is occurring. Also, is the situation being intentionally kept secret from the assisting agency? Intentionally withholding information, changes in circumstances, could be interpreted as fraud.

Is this your first time applying to get on the waiting list? Because the waiting list is long it may not make a difference it should pick the first application first and if the second comes up and they call you back just tell them you already was accepted in the program. Otherwise I suggest you call and they will direct you to the person you can talk to. Be persistent to have a peace of mind. It's ok to leave messages but it's better to talk to someone from my experience
