We visit Knoxville, TN from Pennsylvania every year. And every year we make it a point to visit this lovely Zoo. It’s our favorite and most anticipated outing on these trips. Love the workers and the animals.

Nice petting zoo. Although the exotic animals are kept in poor conditions. The Zorse can be seen tossing its head repeatedly, and many other animals doing circles in distress. The lizards are also kept in small cages, far too small for them. The wolves are also kept in a very small cage, as well as the tiger, lemurs, raccoons, and others. The farm animals seem to be well kept, but as ive said the more exotic animals are kept a bit poorly. These animals may not be in the wild, but they still need space to thrive

Highly recommend the zookeeper for a day! Instead of a bigger bday party this year, my 6 year old decided on something special with a couple best friends. Little Ponderosa made it extra special! We had a full day experience with hands on petting and feeding. Meeting foxes was definitely a highlight! And the animal show was also awesome! (More of an animal info and meet and greet). Everyone was very nice and helpful, super patient with the kids, and clearly loved the animals.

They still have quiet a few animals, we went in May on a field trip and they still have a camel, kangaroo, tigers, wolves, lemurs and lots of other things. They are still in the process of building the main barn but its still worth it, every visit helps them get back on their feet!
