Best sheet of ice in the Triangle. The only olympic sized sheet in the area. Highly recommended for public skating, birthday parties, track out camps, learn to play hockey, and much more. Public skating is usually not too crowded, but get there early so you can have fresh ice because they don't usually resurface during the 2 hour public skating session. They offer skating lessons, learn to play hockey, adult hockey, figure skating, and kids camp. No more pro shop, though. They do offer snacks at the same place where you pay admission. Popcorn, candy, hot chocolate, bottled drinks... you know, the usual rink stuff. There are also vending machines and a few claw-type games. Not a cheap outing, but a decent value.

Well for public skate, admission plus skate rental is $9.
You can just show up and pay admission, but you are still able to buy a ticket online. If you purchase online, you still have to check in when you arrive. If you purchase online and pay for a rental, they will give you a special color bracelet when you check in.
They are following the current covid-19 restrictions. Otherwise open to anyone.

Public skate is open to the public. Freestyle I believe is a club or something of that sort. If you're looking to just go skating look at the times for public skate
You can find out this information by searching via Google by typing Raleigh ice plex and all of the information will pop up.
Public sessions are mostly 1 - 3pm every weekday
They have changed their site and made the schedule harder to find. Look under About. There is a Skating Schedule link there. Always check before you go. It can change. Pricing is on the schedule page.
