This place is absolutely horrendous for care. It makes me sad that this place helps cancer patients. I was seeing Dr. Prochaska here. Her staff is where the problem lies. After my bilateral mastectomy with immediate reconstruction of implants, she wrote me in MyChart that her staff would be scheduling an appt that week so I can learn what my team thinks I need for treatment of BC. They finally set an appt for me through MyChart which would put me at 10 days past my surgery and a whole week past when she said I would get this scheduled. I could not make the early appt and was told the next available appt was a month out. After 2 major sugeries for BC and they wanted me to wait a month for my treatment plan?! That is very cruel. So, we were able to get a Zoom appt. Dr. P was 1.5 hours late for this appt. No call from her staff. After calling a total of 5 times to inquire what is going on, the staff seemed scattered brain like they were unaware of my appt. Finally got Dr. P on Zoom and we spent more time talking about her staff and how they behave than actually talking about the topic at hand- my treatment plan. I was scheduled to see her in 3 months. On July 7th, my appt was for 11:45. At 1205 I went downstairs to inquire if I may have messed up my appt date or time. I was confirmed it was for 1145. I walked back upstairs to wait another 10 mins before I was taken back for vitals. I asked the nurse asking the 100 of questions where the doctor was. She just kindly said this is an ongoing issue with doctors way past their appts and patients being upset. She said she could not do anything as she isn't a scheduler and has nothing to do with the Dr. time. She proceeded to take my vitals and my blood pressure was 153/92. No one did anything. After sitting for about 15 mins undressed from the waist up, and listening to the nurses at their station cackle away with laughter, I decided to walk out. Not one nurse stopped me or even said hello. I went downstairs at the hour mark of my appt to lodge my second formal complaint with Zimmer. Even the woman downstairs Camille couldn't add in MyChart under my appt notes correctly. Camille, I did not say my appt was for 11, but 1145. You made it seem acceptable that I had not seen my doctor yet while I am 1 hour past my time. No word what was going. I went to my car an immediately canceled my upcoming total hysterectomy for July 25th, get a new Oncologist, etc. I had Steven from referal call me 6 times to "work" on my referal for them. He told me to call my insurance provider to get it done and my PCM. I had zero clue what I needed to ask for this referal. He told me my insurance (TriCare) is difficult. He then proceeded while I took 3 hours out of my day to call my PCM and TriCare. Steven called me first thing in the morning to tell me my referral still was not in, when it was. I told him that I was concerned if my oncologist office referral dept cannot do their job, how was I to feel confident my oncologist would. He then told me he hadn't checked the referal tray yet. He called back immediately and told me it was there all along. Rochelle also in the same referral department called me 2 weeks before my ongyn/onco to do the same thing and do my referral work. She said she would work on it as I instructed her to CALL my PCM and tell her what to put on the referral. She said she would work on it as she instructed me to do so as well because my insurance is horrible. I saw my very important appt was dropped. Rochelle told me that she said if i didnt get the referral, they would drop my appt and put the blame on me after she had the nerve to laugh at me- A CANCER PATIENT! My husband called Dr. P to inquire what happened and she said that 2 times I was told that there was an emergency of a chemo patient having a bad reaction and she needed to tend to that patient. The notification of this did not happen. I watched my father be eaten by cancer, and I had cancer, i would never be cruel and expect I come first over someone having that type of reaction to their treatment. Do not go here.

Let me preface by saying I love the check in staff at Zimmer Cancer Center - especially Gretchen. The staff upstairs not so much. I could see they were busy. My Mother was there for a blood test and depending on the results an injection, an infusion, or neither. The results are usually available in 15 mins. We waited over an hour and had to stop someone finally to find out what was going on. My mother needed neither an injection nor an infusion. We could have left long before and if we had not stopped someone we would have been there for an even longer waste of our time. The staff was unapologetic for the long wait time. It seems a short and quick check of some paperwork would have alleviated this problem.

We drive from Carolina Shores which is over an hour away to come here to see my doctor! I would not go anywhere else! The care and kindness that is received from all the staff is great !

That place is from what I understand just for Chemo? Throughout my treatment, I saw one doctor there. Dr. Kotz. He was a complete jerk. Thankfully I didn't have to go back, as I did not need chemo at the time. I just needed radiation. Radiation was in an entirely different building across the street. There are only 3 radiation machines that service this entire county and they are not in that building. We have a long way to go to make that center worth part of a teaching facility. I could never have treatment here again.
