Nicely curated museum devoted to Topsail Beach's history as a Naval missile testing center in the 1940's. There's also some fascinating information on nearby Camp Davis and the pirates who plied the local waters. It's small and easily doable in 30-45 minutes.

We had a great time. Our girls day tripping group included a 3, 62, and 84 year old. We all had a "Blast"

Very cool history of the island. Very knowledgeable folks working there. Need more places to help preserve this local history.

The museum is interesting for both depending on the ages and interests of the children. Our docents can also offer some assistance. There are some interactive exhibits for kids and when all else fails-there is a fossil pit just outside the museum door!
It's free but its recommended to make a donation to help with the expenses and maintenance.
