They were willing to travel to meet us, so that was very kind and considerate of them! We adopted a puppy born within the shelter, and although he is a SWEETHEART, we were told that he'd been treated for his kennel cough and that the cough he had was just residual and that he'd been on antibiotics. However, we took him to the vet and not only did he still have kennel cough, but also pyoderma from unsanitary conditions. The people we spoke with were very kind, but just be aware that there may be some health issues with the dogs adopted out and be ready to drop some money for medicine immediately.

I know this is a tough situation for all concerned. I was given faulty information, and drove 5 hours on one day ro pick up the dog. She wasn't as advertised when I took her home overnight. Sometimes behavior cannot be predicted, but she definitely wasn't the breed they told me, and she had a significant prey drive, which was also misrepresented. I had to bring her back the next day, another 5 hour round trip. Was tough on the dog and on my family. They seem to have better luck/outcomes (based on these reviews) when dealing with smaller dogs...?
