I reached out to Birch Bark Foundation for help with my dog Snoop, who is being treated for tetanus. After I had exhausted all of my financial options, I sought out some assistance. Birch Bark promptly responded to my request for assistance and Sarah worked tirelessly through the night to make sure that all of the paperwork would be submitted in time for his discharge. With their help, Snoop will be returning home. I don’t know where we could have turned without this assistance. I encourage all who are able to donate to their foundation, they are the real deal, they care for pets and their families. Thank you Birch Bark!

Birch Bark has been a great help to me and my family and has helped so much with our dog! When we had almost no hope for surgery for our poor sick dog, birch bark helped us out with the payment of the surgery and was very supportive and kind throughout our time with them. Not only that, they helped with the surgery of our other dog aswell, and have always been willing to help with anything we needed.

Birchbark was the answer to all my prayers!! They came to the rescue of one of my kids, (kitty) who was very sick. They worked with the Veterinary Hospital of Santa Cruz and Soquel to arrange everything. All I had to do was pay a small portion of the bill. Without their help I would not have been ablle to afford the care my baby needed. Now my baby is home & doing well. THANK YOU BIRCHBARK!!!

Birchbark Foundation has literally meant the difference between life and death for countless animals, and in particular, pets from low-income families who are experiencing life-threatening conditions. Helping animals and their people is at the heart of their operation. As a pet owner, and an animal lover, it cannot be overstated how grateful I am that Birchbark exists.

Questions & Answers

How can you help a very sick pet of vertu loe income senior?

Is their some sort of membership or fees to pay each month to protect my 9 & 13 year old cats. I am disabled senior living below poverty level. Do you use your own vet source or can I go to their usual vet when problems arise? I just found out about your organization & am so grateful for the beautiful gift of financial help you offer folks who need help when a pet emergency occurs.

Can birch bark accept pet insurance

No, BirchBark Foundation is not a medical provider. We help low-income people in Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties when their pets suffer a life-threatening illness and they are unable to afford the full treatment. We work with local vet partners in the area and they may accept pet insurance. Please go to our website at www.birchbarkfoundation.org for more information. Thanks!
