Called in to see if we could find a place for a small kitten and the lady who answered the phone was rude and very unhelpful and condescending about people trying to get help for a kitten we found on are front porch

Rude and unprofessional! I found a kitten and was looking for a place to take it since I already have 1 of my own. But all she wanted to tell me that it's not free and would charge me $20 for her to take it...then she goes and charges $60-$70 for adoption!

Rude as heck. I call and ask about something and get a responds essentially calling me stupid. They might be friends to pets but this lady is definitely not friendly to humans.

This place is wonderful. I don't know how Kathy takes such good care of so many homeless and neglected cats. If you are able, please consider a donation to Friends of Pets.

Questions & Answers

I have found a kitten and I would like to see if I could get it fixed. How much would that cost?

Friends of pets has a free spay and neuter clinic. Not sure how often but you can give them a call they are super friendly. It does cost 15.00 for them to not notch the ears they give you worm medicine and 1st shot for free the second shot cost 3.00. I have taken several cats and no complaints

Can you take a cat to the shelter to be re homed

I know it is not a "drop off" shelter. They don't receive government funds, so they have to be very selective on what animals they bring in. Obviously they get the cats from somewhere, but I'm just not sure what their policy is on accepting animals. I think the shelter focuses more on spaying/neutering stray animals and then releasing them back into the public. They are really focused on the well being of the cats that are there, rather than just cramming as many in the shelter as possible. They are also very limited on space since it is a cage free facility.

Is it common for a cats ears to be absolutely mutilated when returned from their care?

NO. That is abuse!!

Are your cats free

No...not free. Feral cats are neutered & spayed for free...ears are notched $15.00 neuter and or spay for pets. Cats are able to reproduce at 4 months old. This place is the best...the woman that runs this has lots of love & puts all her energy into these beautiful creatures...and I mean all her energy.
