Caring, knowledge, information people, as was my experience, most fortunately, assisted me by introducing me to all the wonderful, beautiful, babies! Little Sonny, (going on 2), has been such a comfort to me this past year. I'm thankful for all the rescuers out there utilizing/donating their time and resources in attempts to watch out and care for the vulnerable.

It feels like you are not only adopting a cat/kitty here, but they match you to the cat who will love you and become your family… I found my sister (Cordelia) here! And I’m so in love since then. Thank you so much!! All you need is love and a cat~~~

I’ve adopted 3 cats here over the years. Great place. Very loving staff and so many cats to visit with means you can choose one with a temperament that fits you.

Questions & Answers

My current living situation doesn't allow me to have pets, may I come to pet cats and give them attention?

I adopted my 2 cats from there last year. I had a difficult time deciding because there were so many to choose from in the adult section. If I had a car I would be a cat cuddler. The Nine Lives Foundation is a great org. My 2 previous cats(who died of old age) had Dr. Thompson-Rudiger as their vet. If I had lots of money and a large place I would have at least 5-6 cats! They all have very different personalities. You'll have fun there!

A knowledgeable friend recommend getting a "fixed" Feral cat to chase/catch squirrels. I have a large lot in Los Altos Hills. Looking at the web, seems like I should get a "wild cat". Can you tell a feral or wild cat from a domesticated cat? Thanks

Not sure where you're looking, but "wild cat" to me means undomesticated feline breeds, like civets and cougars. What you want is a "barn cat", which Nine Lives does have, adoptable in pairs for $50. These are semi-feral to feral (not overly social or not social at all), but are great at pest control. You still need to feed them regularly and provide them shelter (outside your home) and medical care, but you'd be giving a needy cat a home while reaping the benefits of regular pest control! Here's a quick blurb about barn cats: https://m.petmd.com/cat/care/how-best-care-barn-cats Feral cats don't look any different from non-feral domesticated cats; the only difference is in how they behave around people.

They are marvelous and have many options. Kittens, older cats. Just know it will be a 10-15 year commitment and friend. We love our two kittens. They àdd life and love and fun to your home.

Do you have any Maine Coon Cats?

They didn't 3 weeks ago, however their website at 9lives foundation has a list of all their cats with pictures, and breed descriptions. If you're looking for a bigger cat, many that I saw were medium to larger sized cats, all healthy and big boned.
