Boy I wish this place was just a bit better. They seem to be doing well and the staff was nice every time we have been there. And it seems like a fun social spot for Medfield - but, the food just isn't at the quality level of other local Italian places.

I had dinner with a friend last night, Thursday, August 18th and we had the lovely Linda, hostess, greet us as we arrived. We had Theresa as our waitress, and she was outstanding too. We have been going to Basil since moving to Walpole in 2006, and this place remains one of our all-time favorite restaurants Our daughter is 19 years of age and in college, and we started coming back in 2006 when she was 3 years of age, and she was always entertained sitting by the large fish tank with the colorful fish. We love the shrimp cocktail, escargot, and salads as an appetizer. Last night we had the scallop special entree that was pan seared and cooked perfectly. When I am dieting there are several entrees that are amazing, so you do not feel as if you are dieting. Thank you again for a wonderful meal and evening! Our thanks!

This is a strange place, as it's a restaurant in a residential area, and looks like it was a residential house at one time.... But inside it's like an old fashioned Italian restaurant, with a North end feel. Food was excellent, service as well. One thing you should do is make a reservation; my wife and I were here celebrating our wedding anniversary on a Wednesday night, and the place was really busy. Glad I made that reservation! A little gem in Medfield hidden away. If you love Italian food, this is the place to try in the south west suburbs.
