Stunningly beautiful, wonderful staff, amazing meals, and the opportunity to unplug a true gift. Thank you, MRL!

I'm a bit delayed in writing a review, but we visited Minam River Lodge last June on a somewhat spur of the moment trip (we were lucky there was one lodge room available) and it was hands down one of the best 'getaway' trips I have experienced. Aside from the excellent meals and friendly, relaxed staff and atmosphere, one of the most enjoyable aspects of this place is the fact that it allows (or rather requires) total disconnection from life outside the valley. No cell phones, no internet, no TV. Just take in the beautiful surroundings, reconnect with yourself and your partner/family, and form new connections with the other guests. We made great friends here during our short stay and have already planned a return trip. Truly one of my favorite places!

Stopped in while backpacking (camped at nearby Red's Horse Ranch). Received a great tour of the facilities and were treated as honored guests by the staff. Great times!

Spectacular setting inside the Eagle Cap Wilderness. Rustic but very updated accomodations. Outstanding meals supplied by local eastern OR spices for the most part and expertly prepared. You have no choice but to unplug and that itself is great. We went on 3 substantial and 3 minor hikes, which is the main reason we came, and they all were remarkable in their own ways. Hiking in with too much gear and stuff was arduous. Pack light! The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Go for it, you won't regret it.

Questions & Answers

Is there trout fishing?

someone caught a trout right at the swimming hole by the lodge while we were there.

How did they get all of that back in there? Are there roads?

They used helicopter and mules/horses to bring everything in. There is no easy way in and that is what makes it so great.

You can but need to call as they need to know how many people to serve.
