When you're dealing with a life threatening mental health crisis, Pembroke Hospital is the worst option out there. I waited 3 months to write this review so that I could provide a more thoughtful piece. The only thing my child came out of here knowing is that they never, ever wanted to go back. The grounds are poorly maintained, very evident when you go to the "back" of the building to meet with your family member. Very little to no communication from staff. Child had no individual meetings with a care manager in the inpatient nor the outpatient. There were no group meetings, just coloring and bracelet making. My child might have well been in juvenile jail, there was no help. One meeting for 15 minutes with a psychiatrist is not care. Meds were inappropriate. Many meals were served without any basic silverware because other floors had violated rules. No human should be forced to eat food without silverware. This is the staff's responsibility to ensure that they maintain order, not the patients. Just a couple examples of the horrid, horrid conditions that I cannot believe the state allows to happen here. Formal complaint is being made to my insurance company. Based on others complaints here, this place should not be called a hospital.

Other than a rude secretary at times, staff is very helpful, pleasant and facility is very clean for what they handle on a daily basis, impressed by their care and what they accomplish everyday

If you'd like to leave a place feeling more hopeless and traumatized than when you arrived, I recommend Pembroke Hospital.

Hated being inpatient here. They didn’t try to help me or anything if anything it felt more like they were just trying to get me out

Every unit has different visiting hours. Best bet is to call the hospital and ask.
No!!!
No
What unit
It's doubtful. As soon as the insurance company stops paying them, they care even less for patients that they did before.
No patches and nicotine gum only are given out. Vapes are not permitted also
Usually, but it is case by case to a degree - sometimes they have restrictions, so it's best to call and if the staff don't have the releases to reply, you can leave a message for that specific patient.
