My mother was in for approximately one week . I had to take her home. She had to wait for some one to help her go to the bathroom, no one came light on for hrs. She wet herself because of this at 9:30 pm and no one came in until 8:30 am to clean her. The is an every day issue. There has been one nursing aid Tracy she has been wonderful. As for others I can’t say have not seen many and they don’t converse with you if you do. As for dinner/ food . Some of the food is covered some no covering parading down long hallways to patience rooms. This is not sanitary! The social worker Lisa Hassell and the other girl in her office has been top of the line a true asset to the facility. Helpful, kind and knowledgeable! Dan at the front desk extremely helpful and is such a breathe of fresh air when you walk in or your leaving . The speech therapist was wonderful also along with physical therapy . I just have issues with nursing aids ! I have asked for a commode for my mother and after a week still nothing. Also asked for her to be showered multiple times and nothing. They did not even offer to was her feet when getting washed in bed . She had same socks on for 3 days. Until I notice and changed them myself. There is a lot of good to say about elmhurst but there are some major issues with one on one care. Also one last thing building is extremely clean …. Just wish they could give some better care for the elderly .
