This is an updated review of Target something that I rarely do... And something that I even more rarely do to downgrade my initial five-star rating to something closer to three stars as I have with Target. Today in July 2022, Target is in the midst of a store-wide 70% off sale that truly is spectacular from first glance. But I've gone to the downtown Target on nicollet Mall twice in 3 days now (this target is closest to the corporate headquarters of the company and as such should be and is considered the crown jewel Target experience)... And despite shelf tags with the bright yellow 70% off notation and the shelf tags beneath those yellow tags that describe an item specifically like a medium Pizza Pan... Information that is exactly the same as what is printed on the pizza pan exterior wrapper... Turns out to not be on sale at all. As I was told by an associate at Target who clearly was uncomfortable having to defend this practice, the pizza pan that described itself as a medium steel pan and that the tag described as a medium steel pan was not actually a medium steel pan: this one was 14 in versus 13 in, and only the 13-in version which had sold out was on sale for 70% off. Now if I were major national retail presence like Target, I would want to make sure that the wrong or the non sale items are not placed in the same shelf space where a consumer would reasonably think that the yellow sign and the information matching between the product and the shelf information described the 70% off deal. Nope. I guess what is expected of me is to either memorize UPC code conventions; regularly monitor Target inventory levels per store on specific semi-related items to ensure that one does not sell out; or the one that I actually plan on following through on: leaving Target for a while and shifting 100% to Amazon. Amazon screws up a lot and Amazon has a lot of products that aren't as advertised. But I have never had Amazon refuse to accept a return. And it seems like Amazon will move heaven and Earth to ensure that I'm never stuck with something that I expected to pay less for or expected to be more than it is. Target on the other hand seems to be on a race to the bottom with Walmart: but the shopping experience and the Goodwill over years with a loyal consumer base evaporate as prices get clipped, employees become demoralized to the point of apathy due to their terrible hourly pay, and Target executives continue to understand what Target is really about. It's not retail products and it's not groceries and it's not one stop shopping. Senior executives at Target our focused on making their earnings numbers so that they can cash in this stock and get their bonus each quarter. I can only imagine if they change their ways and behaved a little bit more like Dayton's did in becoming the most beloved retail presence in Minneapolis as well as a bedrock institution because of their commitment to doing well by their customers. ------------------------------------------ Below is my original five star review of Target posted about a year ago: ------------------------------------------ Target corporation is a minneapolis-based, -headquartered and -founded operation that employees tens of thousands of people in the area and is a cornerstone of the state's economy. It's only fitting that right beside the sprawling series of towers along nicollet Mall comprising Target headquarters, the flagship Target store is found on the same block. Since senior Target executives and various retail partners of the company walk the floor throughout every day of the week inside this Target store, it tends to be one of the best-stocked, cleanest and most attentively run of all of the locations target has in the United States.

Okay so as far as staff goes, A+. This is one of the busiest and most chaotic stores in the area but staff are always chipper and smiling with genuine friendliness. Merchandise they usually have stuff other Targets do not have so this is my go to store for when I need a bunch of stuff. Now for the thing that annoys me and this is to the big manager people- What's up with the bathrooms? It's rather bizarre that there is a line for one lone bathroom! This also is making your employees lives harder cuz customers gotta pee and they're having to wait for ever or run somewhere else and it's the poor cashiers and front end staff suffering for upper management decisions that y'all probably don't even have to deal with. It's also shooting yourself in the foot cuz ai don't linger in places where my small bladder has to work harder and I'm not the only one. So please fix this and bring the normal bathrooms back!

This store is very clean. It is well organized, and the cashiers are efficient. Prentiss was my cashier. She is friendly, helpful, and FAST! It was a pleasant shopping experience, and I will shop there again.

With $20 purchase, underground heated garage is free for one hour (I believe longer on weekends). Without the purchase, for which you get a voucher at checkout, you pay standard hourly rate of $6. If you shopped but didn't exit the ramp until four hours later, you would pay the additional 3 hours during the week and add'l 2 hours on Sat-Sun
I don't work there but I wouldn't be surprised if they did.
Anytime. They are always helpful.
Like the other have said on the 2nd floor and if they don't, Walgreens and CVS should.
That might be a target check. You can call target and they will let you know more details
Ask at the customer service counter. Or check cashapp's FAQ's at https://cash.app/help .

Go to the service desk(area) the downtown location is on the second floor. Most other locations are in the enter area.
Not sure, u have to check... I don't buy it..
they got rid of the small eat in restaurant on the 1st floor when they did the renovation a few years ago. on a sunday at that location, you can buy sandwiches already made, chips from the first floor grocery section and there's snacky desserts at the starbucks or cariobou that's connected to the 2nd floor. unfortunately on a weekend especially a sunday, there are no other cheap food options around like there is on weekdays and you really don't want to eat what you bought in the store except in the Starbucks connected on the 2nd floor.
Yeah Ramya, it can be inconsistent online from what is in stock in their stores. I've checked online to see if they had something, it said what aisle, but wasn't there. They seem to operate the Target on Nicollet different than their other stores. I'm local to Downtown, so shopping on Nicollet is closest to me, but it's also the most frusturating, they seem to run out often of items I want the most, they don't have the variety and it's more expensive than in other Targets in suburbs with a higher average income bracket, which is stupid on their part, with how many people who now reside in Downtown Minneapolis
Why not just choose where and who YOU do business with and let Target decide for themselves?
In the produce dept. 1st floor by the front door.

For working there? Go online to Target.com, then click on "jobs" (this may be at the bottom of the page or in the menu), and then choose the opening you want as well as the location/locations you want to work at. Fill out the application, submit and you're done. It'll have any additional information you need. Some stores will also have a computer inside that you can use for applying for jobs. Not all have them though, so you'd have to ask the staff. P.S. It may say "careers" or "work for Target" instead of jobs.

Either through the Target website (store#1375), or call the store itself and ask for an HR Representative.
I think it's because of the riots that broke out last summer in August. A bunch of people tried trashing the store & stealing stuff too. There's also people that sit out front that are usually up to no good and for that those all are all the reasons why Target is worried about their store so they close early because of it. I noticed they changed the hours shortly after this happened. It's the only Target in the cities that closes early like that. So thanks to those people that did that now we can't shop after 6pm.
No longer open closed permanently. Just shopping for target.
