I don’t often review churches because the reviews are often biased (the members who love the church are the only ones who leave reviews, and the people who don’t like it usually don’t want to hurt feelings....so they just go quietly). But...I can’t stay silent. This church is great. My family moved to the area a few months ago, and we found CBC after a lot of online research. As I walked in, I was overwhelmed by the welcoming we got (yes...that meant we actually had to say, “Hi, this is our first time here!” As we entered the door.) Our greeter, left his post and gave us a tour of the church. Helping us settle our kiddos in Sunday school and then taking us to our seat. Was it awkward? NO! It was inviting-like I was a guest in someone’s home. I have never been treated so well at a church. I was amazed by the attention to detail they give to the visitors. The size of the church is right in the middle of “we aren’t huge, but we aren’t small,” which can be hard. I was certain we would simply attend and go unnoticed until I made a big effort. I was wrong. Within a month, I was connected with so many people from members, to regular attendees to the staff. Everyone has been wonderful. Yes, I had to take a small step-going to a women’s event, saying hello, looking behind me to introduce myself to the people around me. But as soon as you take a step, everyone is ready to talk to you like you have been friends for years. I am amazed at the connections between everyone. People really know one another and yet I have not encountered a “clique” mentality. It is a family. My kids LOVE the Sunday school, and I am really pleased with their classes and teachers. when my daughter leaves class, Ms. Cynthia always prays over her. My son loves Ms. Tina and she shows him so much patience and grace for his full of life energy. They look forward to church and love their teachers. Pastor Aaron’s messages are biblical, challenging and a reminder of God’s sovereignty. He is personable, even from the pulpit (often responding to an “amen.”) and he truly knows his church. He knows everyone’s names, identifies the newcomers (and welcomes them), and makes people feel important. I can not recommend this church enough. It is wonderful.
