Gradually going downhill fast. Got there door was locked, all tables dirty, 2 tables with people eating already, waitress just standing at counter and said will be 45 mins to clean because she's "overwhelmed". I worked restaurants for years. I could clean all that, have 2 whole tables to check on, and greet more and never be caught standing around. Got time to lean, got time to clean. It sucks Merks is closed 2 days a week...they're so much better an option in Farmville. Now we have to drive 30 mins to Keysville to get brunch at Sheldon's. Guest of 2 with 80% tables available should not take 45 mins for any reason. Greet, bus, seat, menu, drinks, and go check on next table. 5 mins tops.

Everything said they were open, including a lighted sign on door and all the lights on inside... except the door was locked! Called and got an answering machine! Went by again about 45 mins later and someone was actually there working. Did not bother! Super disappointed!! Guess the workers choose when to be there or not. They lost a few customers that evening for sure. *update* responding to their response to my review... No it was NOT "circumstances beyond control" ... clearly workers were there, left in mid-shift to do whatever and then returned ... every business that serves the public has a responsibility to make sure it is done properly AND is responsible for the actions of their employees while they are "on the clock" . SHAME on you and those who were supposed to be working that day, but clearly are NOT responsible people who care about their job!!!

GREAT diner. Excellent prices, friendly staff and very clean diner including restrooms. The staff made us feel right at home. Got the Huddlehouse Cheeseburgers and fries and the shrimp and mozzarella sticks as appetizers. The food was great and cooked just right. The tea was excellent and not to sweet. We will definitely be visiting this place again real soon.

The service here is quite horrible. We waited 15-20 min for a server to even come over and get our drink orders, and finally had to wave someone over. Once our food was ordered we waited for 45-60 minutes to get our orders. When the food did arrive, one order was missing so we had to wait for that to be prepared. They were clearly understaffed, however by the time our orders were taken most of the tables were empty and only 2 or 3 staff appeared to be doing anything. They spent more time chatting with each other and didn’t bother to give us updates on our orders until we asked about them. We didn’t get any drink refills until we finally asked for some. The food itself is nothing to write home about. All together, we had a very unsatisfactory experience.
