They were very kind

The people at Animal Services do everything they can to rehome all the animals they have to take in. To the people that are upset about calls not being returned, why not ride out there and take a moment to discuss your request. I guarantee you will be glad you did. The employees are there to care for animals. They return calls and emails as soon as they can. Unless you have an emergency try to remember that you are not the only person that is demanding their attention. If you want more customer service, volunteer or help convince the local government and tax payers to increase funding so more people can be hired.

Great service

I see the way these people treat the public. No thanks. Terrible.

I have a 10mo old kitty would you like her she has her shots
It varies per pet and sometimes they have special offers going on. I got my dog for $20 and he had all of his shots, was fixed, and sweeter than honey.
I would look for a animal rescue group in your area. The humane society is the last resort! Puppy’s usually get adopted out before they have to put them down. It’s usually the older or elderly, injured dogs that have to be put down! It’s terrible! My friends 5 yr old 100% German shepherd had gotten out while she was at work! She put flyers out went everywhere looking, she was only gone 10 days altogether.. she finally started calling around to the humane society, and she had to find out that they put her dog down due to lack of space in the kennels🤬 she didn’t have a chip in, which she was going too, she did have a collar on her and her name engraved in it & that’s how they were able to find out it ‘‘twas her dog ! I mean they see a tag on the dog with her name more than likely it’s not a stray and she was a young, & healthy dog.. So again my point being; find an animal rescue group always before EVER goin to the humane society.
If you can catch the dogs, it's easier for them to pick them up. I don't think they have the resources to chase around multiple dogs. Just an option to try and keep your child safe.
Would anyone like to get these little baby kittens eyes r open they r walking?? Today??
I think 15 weeks old
Yes
I have puppies pit bull 2 weeks old that I have to get rid of
Sound like a keeper
You have to call and get them to come set a trap or set on yourself and they will come pick them up
Yes
Either help it and take it home or call animal control and get them to come check it out and see what the issue is
Augusta Animal Services does not have temporary placement. We recommend reaching out to local rescue groups or boarding your dog temporarily. Once you surrender your pet to the shelter the pet becomes the property of Augusta Animal Services.
You can bring them in but if you say you fed them they'll say they're yours and then you'll have to pay
Don't know call at 12 noon
No, sorry
Yes you need to call them
Slow. One office person who comes to front door to conduct any business. Office person can't touch dogs, dog handlers only. Took me an hr to see one dog. Just not enough staff and too much covid protocol. Visit website to view dogs; can't go inside at all. They have pics in front window but admit not up to date.
Adoptions
Even in sc requires drop off fees. Even if its not yours. Best thing to do is call them so they can come out. Let them know the animal is in danger. Or sickly.
Augusta Animal Services only accepts animals by appointment, there is no fee but we are usually booked pretty far in advance
Hi...yes an appointment would be the right thing to do. Just call me or leave a message about the dog you want to see and when you come I will get one of the kennel assistants to bring the dog out there to you. Bring a leash just in case you want to adopt. Adoption fees are $15.
You need to contact them and see if they are taking animals or not.
If you take her in they will kill her. Just post on Facebook Market place. Animal control doesn't try to help aggressive dogs.
I'm sure they do , but I know Columbia County does.
Not sure, I would think so. My dog got out so went to Animal Pound and he was there.
Yes
My suggestion is if you love your pet adopt them out if you can't keep them. Otherwise they are subject to being put to sleep
Yes I believe so
I am sure it does, but since COVID some policies may have changed. Feel free to give them a call. They have a wonderful and caring staff and I am sure they will gladly help you out.
Im not sure. I went with a stray dog that I offered to foster (and adopt if no one came forward) so they did the shots/microchipping for free. I know July 11th there is an organization coming in to do discounted healthcare for dogs, including shots.
I don't think they do it think only dog and cats
I've heard no
Yes
I'd give them a call to be sure, but I know you need a driver's license to take an animal out for a day.
You can either look online or you can go to the shelter and see if you want to play with any. Then they let you go in a room with them for you to see if you like them. They also have notes on their cards talking about each dog. Hope you find one you love!
Yes they will
The shelter is overrun with dogs right now and has little to no empty kennels. As owner surrenders, your pups will be at risk of being euthanized. Depending on their age and whether they have had vaccines, they will also be at high risk of getting sick.
You can take the dog to the animal shelter. However there is a Facebook page for lost/found dogs and dogs who need rehoming for the CSRA area. It may be best to spread the word this way to see if there are people willing to foster.
Just go in
You dont have to. The city discontinued it 2 months ago.
If you go to their website, it will show you some of the dogs they have for adoption. I have seen a lot of pits on there. It's just city of Augusta shelter. Com then go to adoptions
Any luck?
Their dogs cost $65 for a male and $75 for a female. You will need to go in to see what kinds of dogs they have. But rottweilers (especially puppies) are not super common.
Your best bet is to go in and look.
Not 💯 sure but I do know they will trap them and take them to the shelter.
You will have to bring the dog in. You surrender animals in the back of the building. I would recommend trying to rehome on your own before choosing to bring to the shelter.
There are lots of dogs available for adoption. You best bet is to go look to see what they have. Small dogs seem to go quickly.
Artashia... Do you still have the puppy? What kind is it?? I may be interested in taking him/her in!
You'd probably have to check with your probation officer but I believe Animal Services are closed on Sundays.
They are a kill shelter.
Yes I think u can
It's country ran so that would be a no. They got limited space, funds, and not enough workers. They work with rescues to try to re-home as many as they can but there's never enough space.
Do u still have him ?
I dont work there but its important to go to the pound to look bc people at the desk answering phone dont always know accurately.
Yes
Let dog barking live animals alone
That's when you give them a call and make a formal report. Or call 911 because that is considered an emergency and you can bypass Animal Control and contact police.
It depends on how you mean car problem. Is it a single stray that has taken a liking to you? Is it multitudes of felines that barricade your home? But more than likely, you should just call them.
You would have to check their website or go to the shelter.
