California and Demetrius were very helpful and considerate of my situation. They handled my needs with kindness and dignity.

Chose Lawncrest as they did a great job with my dad. Wish I could say the same with my mom. I was sent the forms to docusign. Never noticed my mom’s middle name was misspelled. Contacted Lawncrest and as soon as I noticed and when I mentioned it to the person her tone changed to make sure i knew it was my fault for not catching it when I signed. Fast forward get the call that my mom is ready to be picked up as well as the Death Certificates. I get home and read the amended certificates only to find spelling error after spelling error. My grandfather’s name changed and misspelled, and my brothers name misspelled. He was the original contact person. We supplied them with documents with the correct spelling of the names. Feel like my mom was disrespected.

BEWARE!!! Before you buy a burial plot look over the whole cemetery. They will tell you your loved one's resting place will lovingly be cared for in the future. Mom passed in 1983 and Dad 1996. They bought their plots several years before they were needed. So we weren't faced with the pressure to buy during a difficult time. The silver-tongued salesman spun a tale of the Garden of Eden and perpetual endowed care. Fast forward 39 years and the promised Garden of Eden looks like you're entering the gates of Hell. Service and maintenance have steadily declined since this cemetery was acquired by one of the largest funeral services holding companies in the world, SCI International. Last year they collected over $4 BILLION in revenue. That's BILLION! I understand the need to conserve water is critical and California established a cutback percentage, but the water cutbacks and decline were occurring well before the drought. By the way, SCI also owns McDonald's Mortuary and Redding Memorial Park. It appears they have implemented a one size fits all business plan with cutbacks to maintenance there as well. Prior to Memorial Day you'll see a bustling of activity at both cemeteries. A few years ago they even had the guts to pass out satisfaction surveys. I'm sure they will be claiming to world that they are good environmental citizens and proudly reducing water usage. Maybe they will reduce it at a higher rate than the state mandate. Even better PR but also a sneaky way to save millions of dollars. Gotta keep the shareholders happy. I wonder how many SCI private jet trips have been reduced! Ozone is important too. We can fight back by choosing cremation from a local community cremation service. .

I found myself unexpectedly in need of their service. I literally called over Easter weekend and was helped almost immediately. They made a difficult situation as easy as can be expected. Very efficient service, and I felt their prices were very fair.
