Unprofessional driver in a company truck. Driving recklessly and riding up on the vehicle in front of them. Flooring their truck constantly and slamming on their brakes. If their drivers act like they’re in this much of a rush and risk others safety, then they’ll likely do the same at any job. Rush, cut corners, and do the job in an unsafe manner.

Caution. In 2019 I hired K & L Dunrite to do several updates to my home. Among these updates were the roof and gutters. They required me to pay in full in advance. Due to their inability to complete these jobs in a timely manner and their necessity to subcontract the work at higher prices than quoted, I terminated doing business with them and requested a refund for the work not done. K & L Dunrite refused to refund my money and produced invalid invoices to justify their decision. In December of 2020 we went to court and received a judgment awarding me upwards of $8000. In October 2021, K & L Dunrite appealed and the appeal was dismissed and the judgement confirmed. They have not yet made any payment to me and I am now employing council to proceed with the collections process.

My parents needed a new roof in Hickory and found this company online. A crew of 6 arrived on Monday morning 9/25 at 7:00 am and by 3:30 had torn off the old shingles, replaced some rotten OSB panels, put down new felt and around 30 squares of shingles. They cleaned up everything. In my dad's words " they did not leave a scrap of anything!". My parents were in amazement of how fast, courteous and professional they were. They and I would HIGHLY recommend this company. Alan Cook Product Manager Bluelinx Corporation

This is a good question but it’s the equivalent of asking how much a vehicle costs or how much a vacation costs. The variables involved are endless. Metal roofs, asphalt shingles, colors, styles, textures, designs, slats, and many other factors weigh into this calculation. Luckily, we offer free estimates for potential clients. With no obligation, we will visit your home and provide an estimate for your roof and desired materials.
Discolorations on shingles are often caused by algae, fungus, or mold. Most of us in North Carolina into the category of a humid climate. This means our roofs are prone to inconvenient growths. Spores from algae, fungus, and mold often land on your roof. If the conditions are humid and damp, the spores will grow into larger problems, such as algae or mold. The result is discoloration or streaky shingles. If you notice discoloration on your roof, call us for a free inspection!
Timelines vary by building size, roofing type, and the company performing the work. Here at K&L Dunrite Roofing and Restoration, we can usually replace a RESIDENTIAL ASPHALT SHINGLE ROOF in one day. Commercial buildings and large homes may take longer. We work as fast as possible to guarantee your life is impacted as little as possible.
Asphalt shingle roofs last from 20 to 30 years. If your roof has hit the 20-year mark, it’s a good time to call K&L Dunrite Roofing and Restoration for a free estimate. Homeowners who are proactive with roofs and inspections will be able to plan better for roof replacements. Metal roofs last 30 to 70 years on average. The long life of metal roofs can be attributed to the durable materials and coatings. Metal roofs cost more up front but pay for themselves in the end.
It depends on why your roof is leaking. Older roofs with multiple worn spots and missing shingles will likely need to be replaced. If you have a leak coming in from the chimney or a single missing shingle, a repair may work just fine. Our Insurance Claims Specialiast will determine how much damage has occured and if its storm related then make recommendations.
There is no one answer to this question. The most common options for new roofs include asphalt shingles and metal. Both types have pros and cons. If you’re looking for the most affordable option, shingles may be a good choice. If you’re looking for something modern and unique, a metal roof may be better.
After natural disasters or large storms, fly-by-night roofers come out of the woodwork. These roofers will show up at your door with a truck with a walmart magnet on the sides. Don’t fall for these tricks. It’s always best to choose an established, local company to perform roofing work. This will ensure you know who to turn to if you encounter problems. Read online reviews, ask for recommendations, and do research before choosing a company. It’s also a good idea to find a company with a strong warranty to guarantee the work (K&L Dunrite Roofing and Restoration has a 5 year workmanship). A solid, transferable warranty is the mark of a good company.
Roofs should be replaced around the 20 to 25-year mark. By this time, important materials begin to fail. If you’re not sure of the age of your roof, there are a few signs it’s time for a replacement. Curled shingles, leaks, missing shingles, mold, internal water damage, dents, and bald spots are good indicators. If your roof is new and you are experiencing these problems, call us and we will help you to find answers.
