Apparently they don't understand triage. My neuro-oncologist wanted me to get an emergency CT for a potential brain bleed, but the ER took people with arm injuries back before me. After 3 hrs I still couldn't get a CT and they couldn't tell me how long it might be. Having worked in medicine myself, I am very disappointed.

Worst place ever. Er diagnosed pericarditis with 1.5 liters of fluid around the heart the doctor had the nerve to say we will treat it outpatient. They did the CT scan and they couldn't inject the fluid and the fluid went in a wrong place and the arm swelled. They did not address and wanted to charge for another visit when we went back. Additionally, there was a compression fraction that was discovered in an xray in 2020 and no one informed about it or followed up and this was discovered 2 year after.

I went to the ER for 10/10 pain in my shoulder that caused me to faint due to the severe pain I was in. This was later diagnosed as a nerve impingement in my C5-C6 vertebrae. In past emergency visits with Kaiser, I had been given an injection at the site of the pain which provided immediate relief. At Evergreen I felt like my pain was not seen as an "emergency." The doctor did not thoroughly feel my neck or shoulder during the appointment. He referred me to Evergreen Orthopedic doctors who were extremely difficult to reach (20 minute phone holds), had no timely appointments available, and were not friendly. The ER was really slow that night and I really feel like the doctor was just being lazy. He prescribed me oxycodone and prednisone when he could have examined me, diagnosed the impingement, and ordered a scan so that I could receive localized treatment sooner. Instead, I had to fend for myself to find another doctor. I don't think ER doctors realize how hard it is to get appointments for specialists, and they might be the last doctor someone sees for 1-2 weeks. I was in pain THEN and needed care. That appointment could have gone so much better. After this appointment, I lost another week of work because I was in pain and/or drugged up on Oxycodone. I finally got a diagnosis a week later by a virtual orthopedist (non Evergreen) and have been seeing a chiropractor for the issue. My pain is down to 2/10. But the ER visit was essentially useless and I'm out a $250 copay.

I love Evergreen hospital in Kirkland and have had nothing but great results by great practitioners there. However, after my experience with the Evergreen Emergency room in Redmond, because of the efficiency and ease of my experience, I …

It's a decent place with emergency care, but you probably ought to go to the main Evergreen in Kirkland.
