Will I have a more than one option to pick from, when selecting a community for my loved one?

Yes, we will work with you to assess the needs and preferences of your loved one and then present you with the top 3 to 4 community matches for your senior. (We can suggest more, but our goal is to narrow things down to options that will truly fit their important needs best, thereby eliminating you feeling overwhelmed.) From there, we will escort you on a personal tour of each community, so that you can see firsthand their accommodations and speak with the onsite Sales people directly. We are committed to helping you understand what you can expect so you can be comfortable in choosing a safe home that meets your senior's needs. My name is Ralph Lindblad. I'm a Senior Advisor for CarePatrol. I help families find the perfect senior living community for your loved one (at no cost to you). I'll recommend facilities with appropriate levels of care such as Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care. Call me at 727-810-4697

What's the difference between an assisted living and a nursing home?

Most seniors will never need a nursing home due to the increased services that assisted living and Dementia/Alzheimer’s/Memory Care Communities can perform. Private pay is rarely used in this care setting due to recurring cost ranging from $250.00 to $400.00 per day. Nursing homes are considered the most restrictive environments for seniors and are for those seniors that require the skilled nursing services of a physician, nurse, social worker, physical therapist, occupational therapist or a respiratory therapist.

When Should We Consider Independent Living For Our Loved One?

An Independent Living community is for those seniors who can care for themselves but are needing more socialization with others. Independent Living may be a benefit for your loved one(s) if you observe a telltale sign like a sudden or gradual decline in socialization, or friends move away or pass away leaving your parent(s) feeling isolated or depressed. A lack of socialization has been linked to elderly depression. Sometimes with those feelings seniors tend to be less active in the community. You may notice them driving less than they used to, or not going out for errands or shopping as much, or they could be missing doctor appointments or are late for activities that they have planned. I'm Ralph Lindblad, a Senior Advisor at CarePatrol. I will gladly assess your loved one(s) needs, concerns and preferences (at no cost to you) and recommend appropriate levels of care such as Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care or In-Home Care. How Do I Know if Assisted Living is the Right Choice for My Senior Loved One?

CarePatrol of Port Richey, FL | Jun 14, 2022
CarePatrol of Port Richey, FL | Jun 14, 2022

The assisted living level of care is for seniors who could be frail, but do not need 24-hour medical nursing care. They sometimes need help with activities such as housecleaning, meals, dressing, and medication reminders and monitoring. The average assisted living resident is 84 years old and needs help with two or three of the activities mentioned above. Some seniors move into assisted living because living alone may not be safe for them due to the risk of falling, increased memory difficulty or the risk of taking the wrong medication or an incorrect dosage. Many times moving into assisted living can help you avoid the need for a nursing home altogether. My name is Ralph Lindblad. I'm a Senior Advisor for CarePatrol. I help families navigate these questions by carefully assesses all of your loved one's needs, concerns and preferences and then recommend (at no cost to you) appropriate levels of care such as Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care.
