I love the concept and the store seems great, but good luck finding parking. I've only been inside once because there has been no parking available the other times I've tried to go there. Wasting the gas driving around and looking for parking defeats the purpose of low/zero waste living. Update. I just found out via a news article that a second location opened in NE, Minneapols (they cited accessibility as one reason for the 2nd location). I live like 5 minutes from this new location and know the parking is much better over there! I'm SO thrilled.

Amazing concept! High quality products and cool space. Helpful, friendly, and informative staff. It makes me feel good as a consumer and a citizen to support this Twin Cities zero waste small business and pioneer. Once you change one habit (rice, olive oil) it’s easy to look at the rest of our life and make other small changes (lotion, body wash) to benefit the environment, your wallet, and overall personal/societal well-being. Keep up the good work, Tare!

This is a _small_ shop, but they have a lot of stuff! The staff is warm and welcoming and happy to help with finding or recommending things, and they have a small but excellent selection of items. …Thanks so much for the warm review, Joseph! We are asking that customers to sanitize their hands upon entry and wear a face mask while in our space. We ask that you please stay home if you are feeling ill or experiencing any symptoms of the coronavirus. Our community members are still welcome to bring their own containers to refill in our bulk section. We are not currently accepting jar donations and we have removed our shared tote bag kiosk. We have limited the store capacity to 10 people. Please be prepared to wait outside in the event that we are at capacity when you arrive. We have decreased our operational hours by one hour each day to allow for more time for cleaning and sanitizing the space. We sanitize bulk bins, scoops, tables, door handles, etc. frequently throughout the day. We have implemented new systems such as curbside pickup and local delivery for those community members who are not comfortable shopping in our space but would like to continue to live zero waste and support Tare Market.
I haven’t looked into it recently and am not sure of the best, but I’ve chosen to use a plastic “fabric” type that is fully machine washable which has lasted me YEARS and is still going! This is a much better option than the PVC plastic ones that get gross faster and are harder to clean. Another option would be to install a shower door if you own your property. Hope that helps!
