The owner is such a humble and kind person. The rooms were built around the 1930s and have a kind of vintage or rustic feel. There's a small outdoor pool open until 10 and he puts out doughnuts, fresh fruit, and coffee in the morning. Staying here is a more of an intimate and interpersonal experience, and not some industrial-big business-impersonal transaction. I'd 100% choose this family-owned motel over some big chain brand any day of the week. π

Me and my boyfriend stayed the night here after we spent all day at cedar point. The owner is super friendly and accommodating and easy to talk to! The rooms are quaint and rustic and clean! I was thoroughly pleased with our stay here. We didnβt get a chance to go in the pool but it looked very clean. In the morning we were offered coffee, donuts, fruit and granola bars. If I could give Maples Motel 10 stars I would. We will definitely be returning when we go back to cedar point for the weekend!

This property is amazing!Close to nature yet still convenient to town. Steve is an amazingly kind person. The rooms are very clean and the motel area itself is welcoming. Definitely a gem!Don't forget to ask about the back path. A must do, especially around dusk. I have never stayed at a place ( from coast to coast) with as much hospitality and charm as the Maples.

This is a very cute, small, nostalgic motel. The location is by some railroad tracks, so probably a no-go for the light sleepers but it does overlook a barnyard, meadows and woods. It is located close to both roads into Cedar Point (Causeway and Chaussee) and easily accessible for visitors to the park. The management is friendly. The pool is cool and clean. The atmosphere is very retro. If you are looking for a little place to relax close to the amusement park, it is a great option. It is also very close to several hiking trails and parks if that is of interest (Sheldonβs Marsh, Osborne Park, and Eagle Point), as well as a miniature railway and some public canoe and kayak landings.

We were there last summer. If they did close, I'm not surprised, it was a huge endeavor the owner had taken on from his late parents. I loved it because it was just like the motels I used to stay at in the 60's and 70's.
They might be closed.
No. I tried to book a room for a trip last week and, like others experienced, there was no answer to my phone call. I stayed at another hotel. But because I had stayed there before I was curious. So I drove by to take a look at it. The grounds are maintained but it is obviously not running. There were no cars or patrons about and no lights on in the evening. The proprietor seemed to be in his house. It would be nice if he updated the website but, based on my previous interactions with him, I'm not surprised by this omission.
Don't be confused by the signs in the rooms that say 10:30 a.m. It is in fact 11 a.m. for the latest check out time or you will be charged for another day.
