I am deeply saddened by the behavior and treatment my husband received from the Warwick fire department and rescue. I am a registered nurse who works in a long term nursing care facility and tested positive for Covid19. Unfortunately i brought it home to my husband. Last Tuesday April 14th at 8:45 a.m., i had to call 911 for my husband whos symptoms became much worse. When they arrived they were trying to discourage him from going to the hospital. Telling him they weren't going to do much for him there that he couldnt do at home. Upon arrival at Kent hospital his temp was 103.5 F. and his oxygen stat was 86%. My husband is very sick and is still currently in the hospital, and he has been there over a week now. I am posting this to hopefully help someone else. Please if you feel you need help call 911, and don't let them talk you out of going, you know your body. We as healthcare workers are here to care for you.
