Was very nervous but the Dr walked me through everything. The office staff was excellent helping me gather medical records and within one day, I can say goodbye to the harmful medication I've been talking for years!

Questions & Answers

I've been encouraged now, by two of my doctors to seek this type of treatment. I've also been told the cost can be anywhere from $100. up to $400. I really do need to know the cost before booking an appointment. Can anyone help me with this??

I see Dr. Wolpmann at Suncoast Cannabis. He's also my OB-GYN. He started his clinic when his mother in law had a bad tremor & cbd relieved it &her pain. He charges $199.00 for your initial certification & I believe he charges $125 to re-certify following years. An example of costs: $280 for a 70 day supply of vape cbd/thc product, $200 for 50 days or $120 for 30 day supply. Depending on your individual needs it'll take some experimenting to find amount & method of delivery that works for you. I use it for chronic pain & am thankful to not have to use pain medication any longer. Dr. W is a wonderful dr, kind, & a great listener. Suncoast often has free seminars at Dr. W's office on Venice Avenue, he speaks on his experience then he has a rep from Surterra, etc talk about product, delivery, legal implications etc. They furnish a really nice lunch before the seminar starts and you can usually see Dr. W that day if you have time and have made up your mind. It's not a difficult process.

How much $is the visit. And do you have to go more than once a year?

Under Amendment 2 of Florida law, a patient is required to see their physician every 210 days (roughly twice per year) to avoid a lapse in treatment. Our total annual fee is $398 (without discount) but it is divided differently during your first year, as follows: Initial appointment $299 + First follow-up $99 = $398/yr Regular bi-annual appointment $199 + Regular bi-annual appointment = $398/yr The current state laws do require two visits per year. Beyond that, MMTC makes a point to provide personal guidance and patient care without requiring the patient to come in and pay for extra appointments. Patient care coordinators are available through phone, email, and live chat to answer questions, help with orders, and guide patients through the state application process. Our experienced staff can give practical and detailed insight, and recommend only products from organizations that demonstrate a true dedication to quality assurance and product consistency.

Check on the Florida Health Department website. They will give you the correct answer. I was told I could use my card in any state. Have you tried a dispensary?

Does this office accept payment plans?

James Robles | Sep 13, 2019
MMTC FL | Sep 13, 2019

Yes you can! If you're a patient with an active card and transferring from a non-MMTC doctor there is special transfer pricing, $49 to get you all set up and take over orders for the rest of your current 210-day cycle. If you're an MMTC patient already and wanting to transfer to the care of an MMTC clinic closer to your home, give us a call at 850-906-5000 and we can make that happen.

Dr. Wolpmann at Suncoast Cannabis charges $199 for initial certification & $125 after that to re-certify. He often has seminars & if you attend you're charged $149 for certification. At the seminar they have rep from Surterra or other dispensaries educate listeners on product, methods of delivery, legal implications, how to apply for card if you're a snowbird etc & Dr. W. tells how he got started seeing patients for cannabis use. They furnish a nice lunch before the seminar. I learned a lot &was able to see Dr. W that evening after the seminar was over. The state of Florida charges $77.75 to register on their site & receive your card. You have to get new card every year. Dr. W & his staff are very competent, kind folks. He's also my ob-gyn specializing in urinary issues. Initially you're looking at somewhere between just under $230-$277.75 to get set up with your card depending on if you attend a seminar or not. I've been pain patient 29yrs & thankful to be off meds!

Smoking is not a permitted form of administration for medical marijuana in Florida. Dispensaries do offer a variety of forms depending on your condition, such as topical creams, sublingual drops, vaporizers, patches, shatter, tincture, capsules, even nasal sprays. All dispensaries are required by law to list each of their products and its price online. You can find a list of licensed dispensaries, and links to their websites, here: https://bit.ly/2C2LoqM

I will say if you have a concealed carry permit you won't be able the carry or purchase a gun. If you are stopped by the police they can look you up and see what and when you purchased marijuana. This I feel is a violation of the HIPAA laws. I have sence learned the the state has not ruled on having a medical marijuana card and having a concealed carry permit or carrying for that matter.

Hello Joseph. MMTC is a clinic group. After a qualified patient sees a doctor at one of our locations, they are written a "recommendation" which can be filled at a licensed dispensary, they same way that a traditional prescription would be filled at a pharmacy.
