Zero stars. The owner kicked us out because one the people in our group accidentally bumped into him. After a sincere apology, he continued to kick us out, call my friend fat and said a comment to another member in our party that is much to inappropriate to post on here. Absolutely uncalled for and ridiculous. We will never recommend this place to anyone or return. So unprofessional over a sincere, Minor “bump in”.

Hello Raymond. Here is the response to your question we posted a few months ago (2 responses because of it's length). Hope this helps. Our ID scanning is in place for 2 reasons. 1) For the safety of our guests and employees 2) To ensure all legal compliance when serving alcohol. As an LGBTQ bar owner and member of the community, I am solely responsible for the safety of the patrons that enter my bars. I don't take this responsibility lightly! In the wake of horrible tragedies such as Pulse, The Upstairs Lounge fire, La Madame, the Grindr poisoner and the Backstreet Café among many others. LGBTQ people have been the target of many hate groups and by individuals who kill just for who we love. I never want to be put in the position of having to speak to the media, the authorities or even worse someone’s loved ones about a death that happens at my establishments.

The area is still called the Grand Central District. The building we are in is called the Mari Jean Hotel and it is historic.
