NEVER IN MY LIFE I EVER FELT WORSER!! Palm shores sucks the life outta you and it's hard to get through it (AKA THE APPOLO UNIT) tons of kids were outta control they even moved 2 children for safety issues and it made the unit MORE chaotic form there even tho i spent 4 1/2 months there i made a friend and they KEPT ongoing making excuses to remove us both from each other. even the staff pick fights for fun with the kids in there to make there stay longer then before god i hated it but i helped me in somethings it made me see WHAT REALLY YOU PEOPLE ARE! never in my almost 16 years hated a place like that! the only staff i did like was Nurse.Laura (both) Nurse.Matt Nurse.Daria Nurse.Amanda Nurse.Peggy Nurse.Karen Ms.Maranda Mr.Seth Mr.Julio Mr.Martan Mr.Al Ms.Sasha Ms.Raja Ms.Allison Ms.MK Mr.Ed Ms.Sara (both) ms.gigi ms.mimi all thanks to them i fel SAFE talking and being with them!! but other then that WILL NEVER SEND MY KIDS HERE!

It was a great program for my child. She has progressed little by little. It was a rough start but with time she began to show improvement. Therapy was useful. The discharge process was smooth.

I spent almost 3 months here. It was an okay stay, environment could've been more supportive, staff wise. Some of the other patients would case issues to get a rise out of others, and certain staff wouldn't do much to help. I was told by staff on many occasions that my body is "too attractive to be wearing clothing like that around male staff" (I was wearing the clothing palm shores APPROVED for me to wear, leggings). There was blatantly obvious favoritism, which made myself, and many others on unit feel unappreciated. I feel when you're in a facility like this, there shouldn't be favoritism, whatsoever. I did meet some incredible people in there (both staff and patients). I was doing amazing while I was within the facility. Just remember that, they are here to help GUIDE you to make better decisions and choices. They have no control of you after you leave the facility, it's up to you what choices you make afterwards. Once you leave, and you're back outside the facility, it may be difficult or hard to adjust, but you're the only person who can stop yourself from going back to your old behaviors. I will forever appreciate and remember PSBHC. You guys did collectively help me change and evolve as a person, and I really admire that. I do hope I never have to step foot back into that facility, or even near it. But some of the memories I made while I was receiving treatment was amazing. All of the stories, tips, and love from people that're trying to better themselves is amazing. It's nice to have a decent amount of support while away from home for so long. Thank you!! - Violet , Atlantis Unit

My son was in Palm Shores for the last 3 months, and there is not a pool on the property. However there is a pool in the near by area the kids are taken to.
