Haven't been there yet but my little brothers like it. They say it's similar to the size of hilltop. I have been riding almost everywhere around the area for about 15 years hiking, road runs and by snow machine. Can't wait for the next lifts that can get us up to the top. Just picked up skis that will work with skins so maybe I can scoot to the top for a little preview.

First time ever downhill skiing! I got a lesson from Jay. He was SO patient, kind, and encouraging. After my lesson, I was confident enough to tackle the green run! Beautiful view, and amazing staff.

Would have loved to sled here but no sledding allowed. It looked so much fun! I'm definitely going back when i can with the right equipment.

How did the name for the area come to be?

Rick Dawson | Sep 11, 2021
Skeetawk | Mar 15, 2022

Skeetawk is derived from the Dena’ina word Shk’ituk’t, which means “where we slide down,” and was the original Dena’ina name for the village before it was later renamed Kenai. The name was chosen after narrowing down hundreds of name submission ideas from the community and then the membership voted on the final name.
