Kudos to chef for finely prepared appetizer (sautéed scallops-very hard to get right) and entrees. Excellent, friendly service. One of the most enjoyable jazz ensembles I've heard in ages. High quality food, ambience, and entertainment in an easy, welcoming setting.

I live two blocks away and really really want to love trails end. Unfortunately after repeatedly trying, they make it so hard. Staff is not friendly at all. I am so sorry to hear about your visit with us. I sincerely apologize as it is never our intention to leave a guest feeling unwelcome or unhappy while dining with us. Typically, I do not like to make excuses, but I would like to assure you that we are doing our best. Like a lot of restaurants lately, we are struggling to find sufficient labor, making both the hiring and training process difficult and leaving a gap in knowledge in service and hospitality standards. In an attempt to maintain a quality level of service we have had to modify some of our procedures (including seating, capacity, and style of service) based on staffing levels, and those can change day to day. I understand how that can cause some confusion, especially for regular customers.
