Mel performed autopsy on my son, Charles Bloodworth. Today he returned my call from May 24th to answer whether my son's self inflicted gunshot wound to head (while drunk 5 to 6 times the legal limit) would be ruled suicidal or accidental. The funeral home already answered my question yesterday. Suicide. So, I didn't need his call back anymore; however, I did ask how could he determines that ruling when my son left no suicide note, had solid family plans and career plans ahead, etc..... The point is moot and doesn't matter in the scheme of anything that matters. What matters is my son is very, very loved and is/was very loving when he was here, alive. My shock today comes from Mel being harsh and sarcastic with me concerning the death of my precious son. I even asked him"Why are you being so harsh?" I don't know what he started to say because I couldn't hear anything after his sarcastic words concerning my son, drinking with his gun in hand, when my son was trained to know better and that an alcohol overdose didn't kill my son. Yes. Obviously I knew it was a gunshot....I made the decision to donate my son's organs....and was there at the hospital with my daughter and Charles' life long friend for my son's last heartbeat here.... I did thank Mel for his call back, then hung up the phone..... I asked God to bless Mel. His job is one I could not choose to do. I just pray he show a bit more softness, empathy toward family members in the future, regardless of how he sees that their loved one has died. I know people are all different. I also know people can choose their words and choose to be kind, more gentle, understanding & empathetic. That's what impact I hope this review will have for Mel.

Debbie in the records department is an extremely rude nasty person who I would recommend quit if she's that lazy and unhappy with her job its extremely difficult losing a loved one unexpectedly and waiting on the autopsy results is hard she said they received them and Ive called a dozen times the last call she told me if it was done you'd have it and said its towards the bottom of her pile she is definitely not someone who should be working with the public horrible customer service and absolutely no sympathy in her body.
