Absolutely horrible people running this place. They blinded my cat before she died of complications from the "emergency" surgery she received by this negligent vet. He preys on vulnerable people and extorts them for money just to end up torturing your pet. Other veterinary doctors in the area couldn't believe what he put my cat through before she passed. Please keep your pets as far away as possible from this evil vet!!!

This review is going to be a doozy so if you just need the verdict here it is: I do NOT recommend that you bring your sick pet here if you are looking for compassionate and competent care. My partner and I took our cat here tonight after he threw up all his food twice and was yowling every time we touched his abdomen. After calling around and finding out that our regular animal hospital had no vets on call, we were thankful that this hospital was still open and had no waitlist. We rushed over and my partner checked our cat in. Right off the bat, things felt...off. The receptionist/vet tech did not seem to know what she was doing; she didn't know how to operate the scale and had a thermometer in our cat's behind for almost 5 uncomfortable minutes before she realized she needed to turn the thermometer on. Promising start. When the vet came out, he did not introduce himself or ask what our concerns were. He went straight to trying to manhandle our cat and when our cat, understandably so, started to hiss and growl because he was ANXIOUS AND FREAKED OUT THAT THIS STRANGER WAS GRABBING AT HIM, this vet said, "So...he's not going to let me examine him?" My partner explained that our cat was anxious and then offered to hold him. The vet's response? "Well there's no way you can just hold him the whole time. We are going to have to sedate IT." And without waiting for a response, he reaches for a needle. My partner, who was very upset and shaken, ended up quickly putting our cat back into his carrier and bringing him back to the car. We are extremely frustrated and disturbed by the lack of compassion, care, skill, and empathy that this vet and his receptionist diplayed. This is a ANIMAL HOSPITAL. Pets will come in terrified and may act out as an escape mechanism - that's a given. If you are unable to handle an anxious, ill cat (who is only 12 lbs!) without even trying to examine it through alternative methods besides abruptly sedating it, then you are in the wrong profession. Needless to say, we don't recommend Bellwood Animal Hopsital to anyone with pets. They were extremely unprofessional and unkind and even when I went back in to give them a piece of my mind, the vet never acknowledged our feelings or offered any semblance of an apology. I am disheartened that someone so callous can be trusted with the lives of our loved ones.

This place is a complete scam. I bought my cat here yesterday and prior to doing so I called and confirmed prices and availability. Over the phone I was made to believe (1) they have availability this evening and (2) the shots my cat needed were 45 dollars (some special they had going on). When I get there the older gentleman at the front desk asked if I can bring my cat in in two days because they were busy. I told him no and that the cat was semi-feral so it was difficult getting him in his carrier. He then says fine and dismissively told me it will be 2 hours before they can see my cat. I asked Hannah at the front desk for an estimate for all shots (he never had shots before, fix him, a bath and medicine to take home to help calm my cat a bit. She hesitated to give me an estimate and said the estimate can only come from the doctor after the exam. I explained that I didn't want to wait 2 hours before getting an estimate. Hannah then proceeds to quote me 129 for an exam, 325 for shots (but she couldn't even explain to me what shots he would be getting), 235 to neuter him and then said it can be an extra 95 if he requires extra anesthesia. When I asked her for an itemized estimate, she got ruder and said she can't do that and said the doctor will give me a better estimate but that i should expect to spend 1,000 dollars. I was so confused with all of this because they had a sign for an exam and neuter special for 139, but they tried to charge me 364 for this!!!!! I asked her why she wasn't giving me the special price displayed outside and she said the deal expired last week but they haven't had maintenance remove the sign. I asked if she can honor the price and she said no. I ended up taking my cat from there because I had the good sense to know it should not cost 1,000 to fix a cat, get him fully vaccinated and bathed. Please be careful when taking your pets here, especially on a Sunday when they know most other places aren't open or have closed early. The folks are scammers

We do provide a puppy package for all of the vaccines your puppy needs until they turn about 17 weeks. But if you only need one set, we can always service that. Please give us a call if you would like pricing on vaccines. Our clinic for vaccines is on the weekend from 12pm-3pm an appointment is preferable.
