We just stayed Fri night thru Sunday morning in sites 2, 5, 6, and 7. This was our first time here. Weather was nice and the site wasn’t crowded. It was booked out for the weekend but 8 different groups didn’t show. Very family friendly. We had four kids ranging in ages 2-11, and they all had a great time. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because we were unaware that the only entrance closes and locks at sunset, and we didn’t arrive until close to 9pm. So we arrived to a locked gate. You MUST get there before sunset or call ahead to get a gate code (no one answers the phone after hours, so you have to call before sunset). I did find it in fine print at the bottom of the confirmation email, but the email also said gate closes 10-6 during the summer. That is wrong. When we eventually got to our site and settled in, it was a great spot. No matter what site you’re at, you’re steps away from the waterline (very shallow so I loved that the kids could be playing and I could watch from our camp). Water was a little lower than in the pics online but still swimmable and fun. There was an algae bloom but we confirmed that it is not the same toxic algae that San Luis reservoir is currently experiencing. There were a few small fishing boats in the distance but speed limit is 5mph so they weren’t making waves at all. The only bathrooms available are porta-potties but they were very well kept. There is one water spicket on site #5 but nothing you’d be able to hook up a camper to. Each spot has at least a table and a large trash can. Site #2 is mostly hillside with a small tent pad, big enough for a square 4 person tent. Does have room for 1 vehicle. Has a shade structure, table, and trash can. Sites 5 - 9 are all straight across from the main water front. Site #5 is by far the largest site. You are right next to the bathrooms but we didn’t get any smell. You also have the only water spicket so people are constantly using it throughout the day and night which can be a little annoying at times. But it’s convenient for when you need to use it. The site had a table and fire pit, but no shade structure. Sites #6 and 7 were smaller and had more hill, but still good sized tent pads. Had shade structures, tables, trash cans and fire pits. We ended up squeezing our 4 groups into just sites 5 & 6. Everyone had such a good time and we’re hoping to make it a yearly trip!

Nice local camp spot. David Hasselhoff kinda gave us a hard time about parking in our site and some sites were small along the shore front, but still would love to go again.
