I wish I had a definitive answer but I am not sure. One of the days I worked I saw a line of vehicles waiting for food. I believe their visit was prearranged because one occupant in her vehicle seemed confused. She drove towards me and asked if she could get Some food. I turned to my supervior and he immediately said no. Why? I can only speculate. I will say this much, if one was very hangry and one could clearly see that the need was right immenant, i don't see that person getting turned away.
No turkeys will be offered at the food bank this holiday season. Chicken, I believe is on the menu.
Does a senior citizen need to sign up in advance of receiving food, or can they merely show up at a designated location and time, wait their turn, and receive food?
Place is 353 West Rossi Street, Salinas, CA 93907 Time, I believe is from 8am-3pm
You can go when they open and they will just ask for basic information about you, and help you out with your need.
I think they do not. It seems to me there are liabilities that the Food Bank will not want to tangle with. Case in Point, whos to say that the shrimp was not properly stored before it was donated. There is no realistic way of documenting every piece of food donated. If they can't document every piece of food, nor can they guarantee that a product has safely been stored, this nonprofit better find money somewhere because they would be presented with many a lawsuit.
If you want to physically visit the FBMC, it is no longer on w. Market st. It is on Rossi, a stones throw from the Housing Authority.

You may go to the office, and they will gladly attend you with your need. Also you can visit their website to see their calendar and check the dates, times, and locations were they give out food.
