Their lunch meals are great - strongly eecommend a tamale combo.
The takeout line can be a bit long but it's worth the wait and service is usually quick.
Masa, or the cornmeal is naturally gluten free but you may want to call and ask if they put wheat flour in their recipie. If they do, which is wierd, you can call and ask for a custom batch without wheat flour.
As a baker, I understand why they run out. It keeps it fresh daily, which is why it's always good, which is why the lines are long and the people keep coming.
The tamales are not made daily... and they come from a vendor who is one of those who are parked outside....
Going early morning and cold nights is a great time to find various people and delicious fresh tamales and other goodies
They have a catering menu but I just order in bulk ahead of time. Cheaper and you get what you want. Feed 12 people for 60 bucks. We had food leftover as well.
There are two sides to La Esperanza 1. The bakery that sells bread and pastry goods. 2. The retail store located on the North West side of the parking lot. The retail side is where you will locate the items you need to make your menudo.
When you look at the store,on the right ,going to the end of the sidewalk is a little shop I see people go there alot,I hear they sell menudo on Sundays and you could bring your own pots, too! Is that right?
