I love the doctors here. We've been with Alfaro since my daughter was born, she is now 6. We admire their care and concern for our children but the receptionists here are lacking people skills. I was told I was going to be put on a "brief hold" and was left on hold for 40 minutes. This wasn't the first time we experienced issues with the front desk. They might be busy, but if thats the case that can be said. They come off as rude and uncaring. I've been to offices just as small and was treated with kindness and hospitality.

Today I took my son for a consultation because the formula hurt him, he had diarrhea and vomiting, I told the receptionist and she denied me the service that because they were already going to their lunch hour when it was 11:00 am I arrived before that time but she was arguing with another woman who was the same denying care for her daughter, I told her about why I needed to talk to the pediatrician and she told me that she was going to give her a note until she was free, that if I wanted she could give me an appointment for another day or She was waiting for me in 2 weeks when the child's appointment was due, the truth is that it's too bad for her to make a decision like that without consulting directly with the doctors! She is a very despotic and insensitive person and it is very difficult to talk with her... I simply make the decision not to care for my baby without consulting someone else, she did not give me her name but she is a chubby girl and it is she who asks for the details of the patients upon arrival to register.

Hello, good morning, excuse me, I've been calling for days and the number is busy

Prior to arriving I called the office of Dr. Alvaro, and provided them with all the necessary information that was needed before our appointment. The attention to detail from the front office from the beginning was poor, as they didn’t check eligibility prior to us making it in and wasting our time. Adequate training should be provided to your staff to avoid instances like these!! I spoke to someone at the front office, and was placed on hold due to them being with a patient which I totally understand there’s times you get busy due to the on going flow of patients checking in and checking out, but don’t get back on the phone and have an attitude learn some sort of etiquette and treat your clients with respect because thanks to them you have patient flow which translates to job security!! I proceeded by providing all the proper information, and at no point did they mentioned anything in regards to eligibility until we made in to the office today we were turned away due to the provider being out of network. I then inquired about paying out of pocket for the visit, and the staff member looked very confused as to not knowing her own policy in regards to what I had asked! So we ended up being turned down, and all we wanted was a follow up for our newborn, since her health is paramount to us as parents. Their lack of attention to detail in not knowing their own policies and procedures as well as not checking for eligibility prior to us going in, was actually a good thing we didn’t continue trying to seek any further help with this group since it seemed like we weren’t going to get anywhere . I’ve never heard or seen any medical office wether it be a out of network, or a specialty providers office reject someone even after wanting to pay out of pocket. The individual looked very confused, and proceeded to asking another colleague which also didn’t know the answer to my question which then prompted her to making a call to inquire about us wanting to pay cash for the visit and in return her response was still NO, when nobody in the office knows the answer to a simple question like that it reflects poorly on management due to their inability to properly giving them the tools to answer a simple question without having to call someone. Hopefully management does review the concerns that are posted on this site, or maybe even the physicians as the representation of the office stood out in a negative way due to the lack of knowledge their front office has which is unfortunate since Dr. Alfaro seemed to have good patient bedside manners while he rounded on our newborn while at the hospital.

If we attend you the same day, but you have to call early to give you your appointment and that way your wait will not be long. Thank you Administration
