I've been bringing my 3-year-old there since he was 2. The small pump track is perfect for little ones with balance bikes. It's a great place to bring young kids, but they do need constant supervision. Your 4-year-old should be fine as long as you attend to him at all times and keep him from getting in over his head with the bigger jumps, etc. Have fun!

Are you looking for the American River Parkway trail which starts at Discovery Park and goes all the way to Folsom? Or something else?

Not sure but I think it is open pretty much everyday.
