Tiny parking lot but easy enough trail access. Love this short but fun trail hike around the island. Kids will love the quarry rocks area to climb and explore.

Over the weekend, I took my grandbabies to Government Island Park in Stafford, VA on a nature walk. These are the beautiful bird and insects we saw! Never seen anything like the critter on pic 3 and 4! What is it? This park is a hidden jewel in Stafford, VA!!!

Government Island is a local gem. Great place for literally anyone. Quick enough trail for children to stay engaged, lots of spots to take a breather and take in the scenery. Great local history with stunning views that have been preserved. Highly recommend.

I would say yes, but the pavilions are across the bridge on private property. But as long as you clean up your own mess I'd say go for it
