I love this place, clean cabins, easy parking even with a trailer and easy access to TWRA trails. Staff was very courteous and helpful. This trail system is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Some trails may be a little rough but they had dozers out working on them.

We stayed in the happy daze cabin. 2 couples. The cabins are comfortable. Not large but comfy. We stayed Sunday pm thru Thursday am. We had breakfast at the cabin every day. And dinner at the cabin 2 days. There’s a charcoal grill to use. We rode SxS about 7 hours every day and had lunch on the trails. The trails are great. They vary in technical ability and are fairly well marked. If you’re following the paper map, the trails change over time as areas become impassable so the map is sometimes a challenge. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking on the trails. PROS - very clean 2 AC units one In kitchen/dining/ seating area and one in one bedroom. Both work well to keep the cabin cool. Pass thru water heater. All 4 of us showered and never ran out of hot water. Lots of outlets in the cabin. In bedrooms one on each side of the head of the bed with USB plugs. One set on each side of the foot of the bed and a set of 4 by the window. Also plenty in kitchen There are just enough dishes/pots/pans for a simple meal. No steak knives tho. Stove/oven are gas. They provided 4 towels and 4 washcloths, 1 roll of TP 🧻, one roll of paper towels, a small bottle of dawn dish soap, (which was plenty), and one bottle of hand soap. The bathroom has a shampoo and body soap dispenser that are full. The beds were comfortable. They are thick mattresses (6”) with a memory foam topper (1.5”). They sag in the middle a little. They are on a base that has drawers on both sides for storage. We didn’t notice til we were leaving but a nice feature for staying organized. I went to the small bath house just to see how it was. It was also very clean and nice. Each room has sink, toilet and shower in your own room; it is very private and comfortable. CONS - the cabins and RV area are essentially a parking lot. No trees which I understand. It makes all the RV sites pull thru and I’m sure installing utilities was easier without trees and the area requires less maintenance and one doesn’t have to worry about somebody being inconsiderate and ruining any green areas or trees. I suggest adding landscaping but I understand why one might not want to do it. IF YOU GO - I suggest you bring (or buy- there’s a Walmart in Jacksboro that’s convenient). A couple rolls of paper towels, TP 🧻 , hand towels to use in kitchen - it can double as a potholder if you use the oven, Steak knives if you’re eating anything that needs to be cut, extra trash bags, extra towels if you require a fresh towel every day, charcoal if you’re using the grill. Visit the blind frog cafe - the food and service are delicious and also the El Rey Azteca Mexican restaurant the food and service there are also delicious and the prices are excellent. You can get to them via trails on your SxS if you want. And you won’t be the only one covered in mud. I highly recommend Ride Royal Blue Campground.

Our first time riding at Royal Blue, and it was a blast. The trails are pretty well marked, and the area is beautiful. We will definitely be back.

Second trip here and had a great time! Lots of trails for all levels of riders. Trails are well maintained and plenty of places to go around more difficult areas

The general store isn't a gas station. But you can ride to a station off the trails.
Yes you can ride at night yes they are open Year round an it 37.50 if your nonresident an I think 15.00 if you are
There's two large truck stops one exit south of royal blue. So you'll be good on beer.
Yeah helmet on road ways.but trails you do not for side ×sides and better to by a year pass its about the same .nice place to ride .you gotta go if you haven't.
Yes you have to have a ride permit to ride on royal blue WMA land. You can obtain one through the state of Tennessee's website. You can find out more info and get a link to the states' website at www.rideroyalblue.com/resources
We do have free trail maps that show the Sunquist Unit which is the marked area of the park. But for a detailed map of the full WMA property which included marked and unmarked trails, we recommend a Lifetime Trailmaps GPS tablet. We do have those for rent or for sale in our General Store. Please feel free to call our General Store at 423-784-9445 for details. Thanks!
We don't offer ATV rentals at our resort but there is a local business called Creek Life Adventures that does rentals. You can find them on Facebook for more details. Thanks!
Helmets are required for children under 18 years old. Anyone 18 and older doesn't have to wear helmets while on the trails but they are required if you are riding on roadways that are listed as an atv route. You can find more info on our website at : www.rideroyalblue.com/resources
Can't remember for sure. Like 8-5 I think
13 Its up behind the cabins its a double wide trailer. You go up behind the restaurant
Most have fire pits, grills and a table
They made us check in at the general store and park down in a certain spot about 1/8mi up the road
I am not sure. They don't stay open very late from what I can remember
Around $80 for a week's pass and only the driver of the bike has to have the permit additional Riders do not have to pay for the permit
The map they provide is a lil confusing with trail 27 being closed. There's a sign in front of store that they recommend a gps map. We used our Polaris app day 2 and never had a problem. First day kinda sucked
Not the cabins but primitive is!
Yes call office at Ride ROYAL blue, they rent them
It was about 125 bucks for the year for both the permits , if you call them they were very helpful getting me setup ..
Yes the property is open to all offload vehicles just watch for trail markers that will state if certain trails are atv only. Thank you
Royal blue does not, but there are a few companies on the main Rd right there that do
When I went there was jeeps on the paths. But unfortunately they where also stuck in the mud.
I think only permit holder should operate vehicle but things may have changed where as long as permit holder is in the vehicle some1 else can drive but I'd check with a twra ranger or get on royal blue ranger's Facebook page some1 there may can give u the proper rules regarding permit holder being in vehicle with someone else driving ! safe travels out there when you go theres many places if you go off track you could end up down a steep embankment or straight dropoff
Yes you can
Jeeps are allowed, the trail maps show ATV only trails. I saw utvs with dogs in them so I guess you are good. I didn't see anything saying otherwise
A lot of mud and ruts from mother nature, TWRA should be currently working on the trail system though. It's a beautiful area.
Diff cabins are diff prices look at website for availability
There are places in the area that do there is one over near Brimstone 40 min away but Royal Blue does not.
There are some places nearby to get supplies.
Yes, but only trails that are not listed as ATV trails on the map.
Yes
If the bike is designed for 2 it is ok if it is designed for 1 stay on the trails and don't get on any mean roads and you will be ok.
Depends on which cabin you want. Memorial Day weekend is a 3 night minimum I think.
$94.60.... We just got a "Sheltered" Tent Area spot for Friday & Saturday night. Check In Fri & Check Out Sunday for $40 per night. So.... 40+40+Tax&Fees = **$94.60 TOTAL** Hope that helps anyone wondering. (**That doesn't include our Vehicle Permit to ride.**)
You can download a map of the trails from Google maps. I believe they are also color coded depending on difficulty. This is an excellent place to visit and ride.
Not at Ride Royal Blue, but there is one in the area.
If your on the campground you will have pretty good service for the most part.
Absolutely yes. Under TVA rules camping is permitted but the limit is 14 days and when your done camping it MUST look like you were never there. Make sure you read all rules for undeveloped land on TVA website
Yes. They put your key and paperwork in the box outside the office and you just go check in the next morning.
Not sure about Norris lake. You are required to have a hunting/fishing license and can get that online from TWRA. We get ours yearly.
There is a helmet law, I think 16 and under. TWRA will get you for the helmet violation for minors. The drinking? That really depends on you and you carry yourself. They don't check your coolers unless you give them a reason to. And if you would, please pack out your trash. Hope this helps
Over 800 miles. Maps are available free at the campground that show all of the marked trails. There are many many more miles of unmarked trails as well. Trails range from easy to very difficult.
There are RV parks there. They also have cabin rentals. You can also ride on the street up to one mile away from a trail head. This trail system is awesome!
I had a spot with 50amp and sewer hookup. My 5th wheel is 43' total length, 3 axle toy hauler. The area was beautiful and staff was very nice and helpful.
