Just had a great experience at The South Side. The food was great - I tried the Tiger Crab sandwich and loved it! My friend got the burger and that was good too. Fresh cut fries. The atmosphere on the inside is super cool and laid back. Staff was very nice. Not too far from I-71 or I-90 - Gets you close to downtown Cleveland!

The restaurant overall has a cool look and nice ambiance. The drink are also good, but that’s where the good ended when I visited the restaurant. The wait was about an hour and a half. The food was basically tasteless and not seasoned. The chicken and waffles I ordered consisted of frozen waffles (very very similar to Trader Joe’s Belgian waffles) and previously frozen chicken tenders with syrup. I asked the waiter if the waffles were frozen because of the freezer burnt taste, and he confirmed. It takes 3 minutes to make fresh waffles. Based on this experience, I will not return.

Long wait, but neat looking place. Enchiladas and eggs are delicious. I ordered bacon and way underdone and ordered a stack of blueberry pancakes. Pancakes were still like batter in middle and minimal blueberry topping and almost no whip cream. Definitely not enough for stack of pancakes. Mimosas were very good. Would go back

I enjoyed the ambiance of this place. The bartender was super nice and attentive. The drinks were good. The food was okay. I personally thought paying $17 for the chicken and waffles was definitely on the high end for the portion they served but it was still good.

During the day its not an issue....maybe not appropriate during the evenings/night time hours.
Hot honey is in their dinner menu. It is available all day
Ben, I would have been disappointed too! The South Side is one of my favorite places to eat and drink. I know they can get busy, especially on weekends for brunch. And now, with the social distancing and other rules they need to follow, they can only seat about half as many people as they are usually allowed to serve. Plus, with the rain on Sunday, they couldn't seat anyone outside, so they had even fewer tables to work with! Independent restaurants like this one that are trying their best to work within all these new rules need our support. I hope you can call ahead for a future weekend and give them another try! Cheers!
