COTA is a great service. One in a while the bus routes and Google maps have a mis communication, but with that being the only issue it still deserves 5 stars. Most of the drivers are awesome and very friendly.

I was at the bus stop of main and Hamilton waiting to catch the #24 when a girl about 16yrs asked for money because she couldn’t get home. I didn’t have anything on me to give her and so she asked to call her parents. I let her use my phone and by the end of it she was in tears and my heart broke for her. Her parents wouldn’t pick her up and one relative she did call, she didn’t know if she would actually pick her up. Again my heart broke for her. So I called COTA and told them of the situation with the little girl( who also looked like she just came from the hospital) and the woman on the other line was able to give the girl a courtesy and ride. It’s great to know there are companies in Columbus that care about their people and are willing to help those who can’t help themselves. I was impressed by the courtesy and the quick response from the dispatcher.

Never on time, 25% of the drivers take pride in doing their job the best way possible but the other 75% are consistently late. They will literally stop the bus while running late to take a cell phone call. I was late the last two Saturdays due to the bus not even showing up. Once we had a driver who was 5 to10 mins late yet he still pulled out a prayer rug at 430 rush hour and walked off the bus and proceeded to practice his religion on the sidewalk while customers were already running late either for work or to catch their next transfer, unacceptable.

Rode 2 cmax bus on 1/22/18 to Columbus State community college from Cleveland Av. in Westerville Ohio and back to Cleveland Av.. First driver was very nice. He know that my daughter was having trouble ridding the bus so he made it as easy as he could for her. I did not catch his name but thank you sir for helping her. She may need to ride the bus to Columbus State everyday if she goes there.
