Did an amazing job with setting up our HVAC system several years ago. Just had to have a repair done today, and they were timely, were done quickly, and everything is fixed! They are the best πŸ‘Œ

I called their office on Monday afternoon and was able to get the owner to come out within a few hours to look at my a/c unit. He came back the very next day and fixed my unit within an hour. Another company told me I needed an entirely new unit without even looking at it but Tom was fair and responsive. I would not only utilize him again in the future, I would also recommend him to anyone looking for HVAC services. Wonderful customer service!

installed a new 10 ton Carrier unit on my roof at Nestico's Restaurant, did all new ductwork running to the basement air handler/ furnace unit. Just a terrific job with lots of hard work, knowledgeable techs, and great follow up to insure all working well going forward. Glad I was steered to them! My new team for AC/Heat for the future. Highly recommend

Craig is professional and is able to quickly find the problem. Our AC was not blowing cold air and not cooling down the house temperature. He only checked two places and found out why it wasn't functioning, and answered my questions patiently. After the repair, the AC was finally back to work. I appreciate their work and would recommend Syracuse Energy Systems to others.

Yes, this is normal. A heat pump generally produces air that is 80Β°, which is considered warm and will heat the house evenly. However, 80Β° may feel cool to your hand, which is usually closer to 90Β°.

How often should I have maintenance done on my air conditioner?

You should have maintenance done on your air conditioning system twice a year. This not only ensures maximum efficiency but also enables us to foresee any possible problems that may occur shortly.

What maintenance should I perform on my air conditioning unit?

Syracuse Energy Systems, Inc. | Sep 10, 2021

Changing out your air filter regularly is the primary maintenance you can perform. When talking about ground mounted outdoor units the units will need to be kept clear of debris, which includes any foliage in the area. Additional maintenance should only be performed by qualified personnel.

How often should I replace my air filters?

Syracuse Energy Systems, Inc. | Sep 10, 2021

For peak efficiency, performance and filtration, it is recommended that you replace your disposable filters at least once a month. If you have washable filters, they should be cleaned once a month.

Is an HVAC system with higher capacity better?

Syracuse Energy Systems, Inc. | Sep 10, 2021
Syracuse Energy Systems, Inc. | Sep 10, 2021

In general, no. HVAC systems are the least efficient when first turning on. A system with too much capacity will run in numerous short cycles, turning on and off repeatedly, therefore causing it to be less efficient and increasing energy consumption. Another primary function of an air conditioner is to remove humidity from the air and running shorter cycles doesn’t remove humidity from the air very well.

As a consumer the most important tasks you can perform involve cleaning and replacement of your filters regularly. Also, shades, drapes, shutters, or screens can be installed on windows that are exposed to extreme sunlight to help reduce temperatures as well.

How do you measure the efficiency of an HVAC system?

Syracuse Energy Systems, Inc. | Sep 10, 2021
Syracuse Energy Systems, Inc. | Sep 10, 2021

HVAC systems use a metric called S.E.E.R. (seasonal energy efficiency ratio) when assessing efficiency. S.E.E.R. is the amount of cooling your system will deliver per dollar spent on electricity. For example, a 3-ton unit may have a S.E.E.R. efficiency rating of 13, 14, or 15. The higher the S.E.E.R., which ranges from 13 -17, the more efficient the system will be.
